I think most of us knows the Skittles slogan, "Skittles, taste the rainbow."But my dog has taken a liking to something else that makes him poop a rainbow. What is it?.....CRAYONS!!!! Sure I have told the kids to put their crayons up and have picked them up myself! But I have discovered that he finds a way! We have the three tier toys organizer for the small toys including the crayons. But the little booger has learned to stretch himself when no one is looking to get a crayon. Now, of course poor G.I.Joe and his buddies have had their heads chewed off or Barbie is missing a hand or foot too. But he is a puppy and things like this happen. So, periodically, he gets to notice that no one is watching and he goes through the toy boxes to see what interests him. And recently....it has been crayons! Purple, red, blue, green, yellow, and even those crazy colors like strawberry red. LOL Now, I know some crayons are named after food, like macaroni and cheese. But he can't read and he shouldn't be eating crayons! So, I think that he is trying to accomplish pooping a rainbow! So, what does your dog like to eat just as you turn your back? What is the strangest thing your dog has eaten?

HaHa..poop a rainbow. I got a visual and it was neat! Our dog has a strange fondness for the t*rds from the cat's litterbox! We even tried (after putting on gloves) taking out a t*rd and sprinkling red pepper flakes and tabassco sauce on it. The dog later ate it, licked his chops and dug around in the litterbox looking for more! I asked the vet about it, he says it is a common problem. According to the vet, the cat food comes through only partially digested and my dog tastes the cat food in the t*rd. When the dog is loose in the house we have to put the cat's litterbox up on a tall place.

our dog does the same. We have a little maze in front of the cat box that the cat can get through but the dog's too big for. I found out our dog has the same attraction for horse manure once when we were hiking on a trail where horses go. The worst part about the whole thing is the horrible breath it gives my dog! Ewww!

Blimey, I do hope he's not been making himself ill with such a range of unpalatable foods .. have you tried feeding him ?? (Just teasing) .. I sometimes think small pets are worse to look after than young children .. at least they all seem to have the same perverse interest in things that will potentially do them harm, like electric cables, chewing small plastic toy parts, sucking coloured pencils and such like .. When my Basenji had puppies I had to tie all the low level kitchen cupboard doors shut .. remove all small things from below 3 feet high and still the little terrors would find something they shouldn't have ..

I hear ya! Puppies find ways to get things and you are left wondering how they got them! I am waiting for him to shock himself by biting a electric cord. I am sure it will just give him a jolt enough to teach him not to do that again. But thankfully, he has not tried that yet. I have tied up and moved what I can. So, I think I am puppy safe...until he learned how to stretch his hound body. hahaha

We don't have dogs, just cats, I actually caught my youngest cat playing with a piece of polystyrene which she had found somewhere outside, you've never seen me so frantic trying to get it off her, as polystyrene is lethal. When I was kid I had a dog, and he used to eat brussel sprouts, crisps, and cheese, but thankfully never got hold of anything like crayons or bits of my action men. But he did cry and pester mum when she was peeling brussel sprouts which I thought was extremely funny.

Thanks for the laugh. I have one dog who is my little thief. He likes to snag things out of the garbage or the recycling bin. He mostly likes the cardboard boxes, especially the cereal ones. And he is also a big fan of the butter stick wrappers. And he looks at me to se if I am looking. Now the puppy, even though she doesn't walk, has figured out how to scoot herself and get behind the computer just enough to get my wires. I thought I had them out of her reach but I found out differently tonight. We had been having lots of trouble with our internet connection and we thought it was the cable box. But we did some checking tonight and found that the cord to the wireless router had been chewed a bit. So I guess my job now is to puppy proof the house some more but I have a feeling that she is going to be my little troublemaker no matter what I do.lol

Oh no! I am soooo sorry your wires got chewed! I have been constantly worried that our puppy with do that too. And since he got a hold of my headphones while I was in the shower...I have been even more worried that he might take a liking to chewing wirees too.

She has eatehe following: The skirt off of here recliner A full roll of toilet paper The linolium off of the kitechen floor. The carpet in the living room. A pop can 4 collector item star trek chocolate bars and last but not least... A razor blade. The dong is crazy. But like I said luckily my dog doesn't do this kind of stuff.

I have a Beagle who eats crayons!! It is the funniest thing to see technicolor poops! LOL He also eats really disgusting things too, and it is really frustrating. See we are on septic, so I can't flush, well feminine products. . . yeah, then I find them all over the house cause he goes through the trash. SO not cool! And he treats the litter box as if it is a buffet table. . .gotta love animals huh?

Ok thats crazy. I know you turn around and they get into the strangest things. My dog when she was puppy got into a bunch of things, she for some reason likes pencils, once in awhile still she gets ahold of them.

Hmmm...what a great description! Maybe he wants to taste the rainbow. Or, maybe they taste good. Have you ever tried them? Younger children like them also. LOL I think that the strangest thing that my/our dog has eaten out be Grub worms, pool table, papazon, rug/carpet, and recently my things that I had on my wall! The little booger!! I was sssooo mad, but it wasn't his fault, he's a puppy! :D But, hey that is why we have doggy chew toys for them. And, those are just a few things chewed up by our dogs. :DD LOL

After my daughter and I finally stopped laughing we went off to find a bite to eat. This is my response. I don't see a problem as long as no one tries to draw with fido's deposits. lol Our Charlie dog eats cat food. So we had to keep him away til the cats could eat thier dinner or breakfast. That is about as strange as we could offer.

Hey, I never thought of that! Maybe if we just pick him up and rub his butt on paper it would save me from having to buy more crayons! hahahaha I kidding! I swear! And I am totally going to tease my kids with that! hehehehe

Heheh I've had some dogs that love crayons as well, not sure why but they will chew them up if they can get to them. Our dog right now likes to chew on blankets but only ones that have a hole in them already. She likes to make holes bigger, she did that with one couch we had too that had a hole on the side. The strangest thing I had wasn't with a dog though, it was with a cat. He ate bengay, go figure that one cause I couldn't. He would lick it off us when we had it on.

All dogs eat everything. My girlfriend just got her dog and I'll not be suprised if he eats his own poo. Personally, I have a cat. The strangest thing that he has ever eaten is a bird, which he caught from the balcony. It's not the food, but how he got it. We live on the 6th floor... you can't imagine how a cat can catch a bird from the 6th floor, without falling. He has done this twice. Beats me how... we've never seen him do it.

I know that this one has been up for a while. Anyway I used to have a shepard pitt bull mix that liked to eat my sons legos. You know the little building block. talk about pooping a rainbow just about every time I would go out for DDP (dog dirt patrol) It usually wasn't hard to spot.

Dogs are funny creatures. We had weiner dogs that thought our couch was a huge chew toy. We came home one day to find the arm and back of the couch torn off and stuffing strewn around the house. Gotta love it.

That is a creative description for your dog's poop. Is there any health hazards for your dog so far after he has chewed so many crayons? I think it is better check with a vet to see if he is still healthy. We can't really help it if our pets go chewing things behind our backs but if it is wires, they can be dangerous to little kids around the house.

My dog has eaten crayons too. It must be the smell of them. My sister-in-law's dog ate one of her children's socks and had to have surgery to remove it. Even if you feed your dog they are constantly looking for a nibble, begging from you, eating foreign objects. One good thing about my dog is he never goes near the garbage can. I could leave it wide open and he has absolutely no interest in it which surprises me.

our dog tend to eat our slippers. if you left them somewhere that he can go, he'll grab it take it to his favorite hiding place and proceed to chewing and ruining our slippers. so sometimes when you came home and a pair of your slippers are missing, dont bother looking for them on other places because if its not there where you them its in our dog's hiding place.
