Online Or Offline

Do you prefer to shop online or offline? And Why? I love shopping in general so like to do both. I like to shop online as it is convenient if you do not have time to go to the shops. Some shops online also do not have shops that you can go to like catalogues or ebay. And I love to shop offline as I get to see all the products I am interested in before I buy.

I prefer Online shopping myself for various reasons...the main one being its easier for me to find what it is I'm looking for...for example jeans for me are very difficult to find in live stores in my area because I need a 36" inseam, so finding them online is considerably easier...Same with the style of clothes that I love..you cant find them in the mall or local stores to my area so again, online is the best place for me..Plus I have low tolerance for the rudeness of ppl in the mall and draggin my kids around becomes a pain too since they dont really care for shopping when I'm the one getting all the stuff LOL

I do the majority of my shopping online, but that's mostly because I dislike crowds and pushy salespeople. It isn't instant gratification, though, as you have to wait (and pay for!) shipping. I do occasionally still venture into the mall, but never at peak sales time such as the holidays. I'd much rather shop from my home and not be bothered.

To be honest it depends on what I am buying, if its food then I always prefer to buy offline, and to choose my fruit and vegetables myself for example and so that I can pick out what I want. Same too for clothes, I prefer to try everything on in the shops saves the hassle of having to parcel it all up again and send it back. I buy all my dvds and cds on line. For example before Christmas I wanted Bad Girls Series 3 on DVD, I went into HMV it was £35 on the internet brand new I got it for £12.99, big difference. I much prefer the convenience of shopping at home because I hate crowds and it is more time consuming, parking etc...

I love going out to shop with my friends, like going into lots of store, trying things on and then having lunch and continuing for the rest of the day. But somedays, I just couldnt be bothered. There is the traffic, trying to find somewhere to park, fighting the crowds, the rude sales people and spending way too much money :P Thats where online shopping is really great. No traffic, no parking, no crowds, no rude sales people.. the spending is still the same :P The only downfall to shopping online is you cant try the clothes on, and you might be getting ripped off.. you could pay, but never get your item!

I prefer to shop offline as then I can try clothes on, returning items is difficult and I don't have to pay for postage. I do shop online a lot though esepcially on ebay for a bargain or if i'm looking for a foreign or unique item.

I like a mixture of both. If there is a big purchase I need to make I will shop online at different stores and do my research on the item. Then depending on where I find the best deal I will buy the item online or at a store. Shopping online is much easier to find deals and you don't have to drive from store to store. I really like the online stores that you can buy online and pick up at the store. I like saving money on shipping. Shopping online is nice because you can have access to so much more than you do at your local stores.

I prefer shopping offline. You can actually see and test the real item and you get it instantly. Although shopping online is more convenient and hassle-free, it is still too risky for me.

Yes it is good to be able to see what you want to buy before you decide if you want it or not.

online shopping - explaining about online shopping
well, it depends upon the situation because it has advantages as well as non advantages...... If the item you are interested in is one that you want to actually see, touch, taste, and/or smell, then (at least for now) online will not be your preferred method. You could do your initial research online. Then if you want to physically encounter the item and it is possible to do so, then do so. If you still want the item, you have the choice to purchase it then and there or online afterwards. I would not be surprised if more and more online stores will provide try-it-out-and-decide policies. This is already common in mail order shopping, where you can try out an item for a specified time. If you wish to keep it, then you send your money. Also many companies have excellent return policies which work similarly, except that you have to pay for the item prior to delivery. the item you are interested in is one that has to be delivered, it may take some time to arrive (no different than mail order). If you need an item right away, then you may be better off going to a conventional shop. But there are many items that can be obtained online that are delivered in the same time or quicker than shopping in person. For example, many software packages are available in downloadable form. If the software will be installed on the same computer on which you are shopping, then it is most convenient to buy online. Make sure that you are aware of how big the file is! I just purchased software that was over 40 megabytes in size. Thankfully I have a fast Internet connection. But if you have a 28.8 modem, the wait could be ridiculous. Also when buying online, if something happens to your file, you may have difficulty obtaining a replacement. Some products where delays may not be an issue are travel tickets, magazine subscriptions, and other traditional mail order products. Shopping online presents some unique hazards.

Yes I like mail order catalogues as you get the chance to try before you buy. All the one's I am in luckily do not charge you for sending the items back.

I used to shop offline all the time but I'm getting to be a more online shopper. It's probably b/c I have kids and I don't feel like lugging them around all the time with me to stores (they are young). I also just don't have the time to really look. If I know what I want, I always buy it online now.

I can go both ways. If I know and trust the company,I will buy online. I am saving to buy an expensive item. I plan on physically walking into the store instead of going online. Thids way I know I am getting an authentic item.
@tabyorky (281)
5 Feb 07
Yes I only buy from online sites that I trust or know that other people trust. Yes I would rather get an authetic item from the shop than online then that way you know it is real.

I think doing shoping by offline is the best option than doing it by online . In online they will pay extra charge . Doing shop on our own we can enjoy . we can get good quality of goods on online , it's one of the disadvantage for shoping in online . so once again offline is best one.

I have not done any online shopping till date. It is not a popular concept here wither. People still do not look comfertable in giving their credit card number online. And also, sites like eBay, and rediff do not enjoy good reputation here. So, people try to avoid using them. At best, they like to book their tickets online.

I like to shop online mostly. It is hard to wait for the items to ship though. I mostly shop on Ebay and Amazon. I don't like crowds much, so stores don't really interest me.
@tabyorky (281)

Yes sometimes waiting is hard as can be a while before you get something. Not many people do seem to like the crowds in shops.

I like to shop both places as well. I like the "online only" offers as most of the time you cannot find the bargains in stores. I also like the fact that when you shop off line you get to see what you get before you buy. Shopping online is always a risk. You never know whether you are going to get what it was you really wanted, never know what quality the item is, and do not know if you are actually going to get the item at all. Don't get me wrong, I do believe that shopping online is better. Online shopping is way more convenient and faster, especially if you are a mom and hate taking the kids. When I want to get out and do some shopping I like going to stores such as Ross and Marshall's. Shopping at the mall is okay, but I really don't like the crowd. I do prefer to shop online, but I also do like to shop off line.

Shopping offline is a much better option than shopping online because i think that we can judge the quality as well as tthe material value of the products we choose to buy. But in online we dont get this option and we rather just pay what we see and what attracts us. Also we have to pay it online we is not always convinient to many of the customers and they feel that carrying cash is much easier ine. Hope i am right???
@tabyorky (281)

Yes offline shopping is easier to see the quality of a product.

Going to the mall and seeing things you want to buy is defintely better, though there are things that you can only get online.But I rather shop and roam around the mall until my feet give up!
