its termed as euthanasia......means painless killing of a patient who cant be treated or has no cure for his disease. a cancer or an aids patient knows very well that he has jss few days or months or may be years for himself. he's perfectly active and going around absolutely well and leading a normal life...but he's mentally depressed and at times expresses a wish that he doesn't want to live anymore. but we know that a mentally unstable person cant decide whats rt or wrong. should he be allowed to take his life in his hands. life is God's gift to us...we cant end it up without his will. but pertaining to the trauma that the patient and his family undergoes should euthanasia be legalised...(its illegal right now). the most controversial qn....do give your views

You said it to yourself, life is God's gift therefore He is the only one who has the right to take away His gift. I don't believe in euthanasia. As long as a person is alive, there's always hope. The emotional trauma that a patient is experiencing is part of God's plan.

This is one difficult question. Life is a Gift from God and I don't think it's rigth that we decide who shall live or die. My aunt suffered from stage 4 cancer and there was a point when she requested that we asked her doctor to end her life. Part of us wants to hold on and figth but part of us wants for her suffering to end. In the end, we ended up not having euthanasia. We just prayed and asked the Lord that let His will be done. Whatever is his plan for aunt, we will accept it wholeheartedly.

tough situation!!!! though we may say that it should be legalized....but its really tough for the family members to decide that...well who would like his dear one to die ...knowingly that he could still live(though in pain, but still he is in front of their eyes)

it's hard to decide for other people's views. but if ever i get terminally ill and if ever i am suffering so much pain because of the illness i get, i wanna ask for euthenasia to be done on me. it's difficult i know but i don't wanna live day by day seeing my loved ones feeling pain (emotional pain), too whenever they see me and hear me scream because of too much pain. it will just break their hearts more from day to day and i will feel bad more as well from time to time.

but wouldn't that moment when you would decide be tough...for you and your family. its really hard...but choice should be given even i feel so..leave it to the person and hid family. but on the other hand i feel ..euthanasia may not get misused

No. any person dont have the right to end his/her life. GOD gave us this life, HE is the only one who should take it away from us.

I think if there is nothing that can be done to help you live a longer life, then you should be able to end it. To suffer and not be able to take control of your life right at its end isn't fair.

yep. we might live longer if we won't get euthanasia but we will wake up from time to time getting into a worst situation every now and then. atleast, it's better for us to have our own choice, too.

I personally feel that a person has the right to choose to end their life, if they are terminal. I have had several individuals in my life who were terminal, and see them dehumanized daily is a horrible thing. The suffering is so hard to watch, and so physically and emtionally hard on the individual going through it. I know if I were terminal I would want to option to be able terminate my life. I am going to die any ways, so why prolong the agony. Animals are allowed to be put down without suffering and so should we.

no, i don't think so... God is the one who gives us life and He is the one who has the right to end it... and nobody else... so i think euthanasia should not be legalised... no matter what condition or state the person is, still he/she has the right to life and we can't end it... i think it is a sin by doing so...

i dont believe in euthanasia. i still believe that only the Lord has the right to take our lives, and He will do so in his perfect time. All sufferings that we encounter here on earth are here to teach us lessons and make us better people.

I don't believe god created us, and we should not feel obliged to keep suffering through pain when there is no light at the end of the tunnel. I think that people in these special circumstances should be given the choice, but with counselling not only for themselves, but with and for the family/friends as well.

I believe that no one should be given any LEGAL right to end one's life. What may be legal is not necessary MORAL. So giving the right to end one's life may be legalized but morally its sooooo wrong. God does not give what one cannot endure. Suffering could help the soul achieve deeper spirituality and understanding of the Divine that is within each one of us. It may be easier for me to say this when i am not the one suffering, but i have heard of many who fight and endures and would still fight to live inspite of such suffering. They say suffering is life a fire that readies the iron to be molded by its maker's hand. And i believe it does purifies the soul and serves its own purpose.

I think people who are terminally ill, and has no cure, or rather still no life, I feel it would be better to let a person die painlessly instead of suffering, and not getting any better.

I go agree that the person should be given the right to end his life when he is in critical condition and no one to look after him/her. Even though there are family members at home nobody will be there to look after them in the present world where every one in the house should work to keep the house going unlike in 60s or 70s where a family was fed with the earnings of one person. We can discuss lot of things that we can do that, we can do this....blah blah blah but when it comes to the pain the patient is undergoing one they can feel the pain and no one else.

It really depends on the case of the patient or the person's sickness you know, on what extent its leading. . In my own point of view, euthanaisa must be given to persons who are actually lifeless in their body and their minds the only one working. . vegetable bodies as an example. . Those people who's lives are just dependent on the machines, relying their breath to that. .

i think that should be allowed, but at the same time care should be taken that there is absolutely no chance that he can lead a normal life. Life is worth living only if u can achievev something out of it. Living in a vegetative state brings nothing but only leads to suffering of the patients family. So it should be allowed.

technically euthanasia (mercy killing) is still illegal, it is still considered murder, a henious crime in the eyes of the law and of God
