I definatelly choose windows xp for right now, may be I will considering using windows vista for next year or 2 years from now, I'm still comfortable with my xp sp1, I doubt vista will troubel less, you know microsoft product don't you, since they born until now, always full of patch, bug, etc. I don't like become their testdrive users (even though its allready final), lets wait for the vista service pack 1, service pack 2, and so on to be release.

Agree with you. Besides the hardware update that I would need to do, I will still wait until the OS is more trustable and stable (as much one can be with microsoft).

Well, I just bought a new computer and it came with Vista and so far, I have not had any complaints. But please tell me how to operate two systems at the same time on the same computer. I did not realize one could have XP and Vista....neat if I knew how to do it.

Even though I've not tried Windows Vista myself but I think it's no more than WinXP with a new skin, at least talking about what I've seen in my friends pcs so I guess I'll stay with WinXP Pro installed here, I don't find a good reason to upgrade.

Yeah, it needs a 'super' computer, but my vista is running fine on 512MB RAM, 128MB Video Memory. Thanks!

For now Windows XP because actual game don't run very well on Windows Vista that being DirectX 10 optimized and games for now only reached dx9 optimization. In the future we will all net to pass to Windows Vista because XP will become absolete as security and as a good gaming platform.

Oh you are right, Vista is not a gaming platform, it can't be better than XP, but how come that MS hasn't released DX10 for download. Well let us hope that MS makes Vista an All Round OS. Thanks!

I'll go for XP. Its far more better than Vista. I have a SATA Hard Drive whoose drivers do not get loaded properly. Im running XP. Vista dosent even have win32 application support. Until there are programs launched for vista, i'll go for XP.

You are wrong, you have to load your SCSI/RAID drivers through your disk which you must have for your SATA HDD. And its opposite XP dosen't support win32 apps.

I'm sticking with XP for the moment until they have ironed out the problems with Vista, which will be at least 12 months no doubt. I've heard some bad stories with people not being able to obtain drivers for certain items and there are always security breaches when they roll out a new platform, so I'm sticking with XP for now. Vista does look quite nice though and has a nice feel to it.

I'll still stick with XP. I heard that Vista comes pre-loaded with a horde of horrible nightmares. Lol they're just eye candy and are not that good compared to XP. Seriously, Microsoft has run out of ideas to develop really useful softwares. I mean, come on, who need that eye-catching Aero feature anyway? It's cool graphically, but it eats up a lot of RAM. So okay, I think Vista would be great for games since it has DX10, but other than that, it's just another OS.

Gotta agree with you, Vista eats up a lot of RAM, recommended RAM is 2GB after which we have to add more to it to run other apps, in addition to RAM it requires 256MB of graphics card, not a local one but a good one, it is not completely developed as yet so definately many of us will like to stay on XP.

I would prefer the windows xp by far, because the windows vista is still not in full version, so there must be many bugs in it, just like the windows xp sp1, as you know, there are many bugs by far, but the windows xp sp2 is now almostly mature and it has no strict specifications to your computer's hardware.

my choice is vista because vista is more advantageous than xp. because micro soft has making vista over the xp so definately it more advantageous than xp. bye

Windows Xp....Because Vista is more jazzy & with more emphasis laid on security (Which I presume is not of such a high priority for most of us, common users) & with less in utility. Besides its just out for two months. So we should wait for further service packs to be released because they would be more stable.Like windows XP..service pack 1 was not bug-free but the XP service pack is really good now.

I have a notebook that has Windows XP Pro with SP2, and I also upgraded my desktop PC to Windows Vista. I was an official Windows Vista tester for Microsoft. I've been through a lot of tests with both to compare what's good about XP and Vista. Vista does have a lot of good things that are better than XP, plus the new great looks and a few new features. Recently nVidia released the first Direct X 10 video card so you can now play games on Vista, believe me it won't take long for Vista to come together quick and then lots of people will be switching.
