Yes. I am suffering from hypertension also or high blood pressure. I just posted a topic of high blood pressure control and there are 5 ways listed there. I was hospitalized twice during the last quarter of last year. I hope that people could lower their blood pressure.

It is very true that in take of salt increases blood pressure and in my family my wife takes too much of salt. In fact most of the dishes have extra salt. I had informed her about the impact of excess salt on health and now she is trying to reduce the salt intake. In fact I was a wholesale distributor for salt for 30% of the city traders and I was given a 1st prize to go do Switzerland for having sold maximum tonnes of salt.

it must have been ironic for you to ask your wife for salt reduction in your food and be a distributor for salt. Must have been hard

I don't know more about it..
It is important to take steps to keep your blood pressure under control. The treatment goal is blood pressure below 140/90 and lower for people with other conditions, such as diabetes and kidney disease.
Adopting healthy lifestyle habits is an effective first step in both preventing and controlling high blood pressure.
If lifestyle changes alone are not effective in keeping your pressure controlled, it may be necessary to add blood pressure medication

Salt (sodium) is essential to our bodies. Normally the kidneys control the level of salt. If there is too much salt, the kidneys pass it into urine. But when our salt intake levels are very high, the kidneys cannot keep up and the salt ends up in our bloodstream. Salt attracts water. When there is too much salt in the blood, the salt draws more water into the blood. More water increases the volume of blood which raises blood pressure. Some people are more sensitive to salt than others. In some people too much salt will cause their blood pressures to rise, in others there will not be as large a change. About half of people are salt sensitive. African-Americans, the elderly and people with diabetes are more often salt sensitive. If you have high blood pressure, you can always benefits from decreasing your salt intake.
