I am certainly using windows but i tried a few linux operating systems, it's kinda hard working on it since it doesn't support .exe files (there is a program called 'wine', it runs .exe aplication) but still, i can't do with it what i do with windows:(, how about your experience?

I myself prefer Windows, because I found it easy to use and the user interface making everything easier to understand ahhaha anyways I have tried using Linux before in my friends computer, but I could not get it work properly, the command are the different, the program are different so I found it hard to use. However, I think that may be just because Im not use to using it, and have always been using Windows, that is why I will choose Windows over Linux :)

I would not really compare the two, since they are very different and both have their own specific values.
Windows is the familiar environment for many and has the support of a vast number of software developing companies. As a result there are far more programs available for the Windows platform.
The majority of Linux distributions are free and come with a full selection of free programs, which is an obvious advantage. There are also very few viruses for Linux, mainly due to the fact that writing a virus for Windows will affect more people and computers.
I am a fan of both, and run Windows XP on my desktop and Xandros on my laptop.

i am using windows os but i will change my system to linmux in the future.linux is open sourse oparating system,so the linux based programs also open source..exe files is supported in windows so you can not run in linux.you can find the linux versiyon of exe file.you can not run some applications on linux directly.you have compile them because linuz is open source system.linux is more better for me.first of all more secure and faster then windows.and you delelop it yourself.now a days some the big software producers are supporting linux.the big companies herew started to use linux.and i will never buy windows vista.i will always choose linx.linux is a free oparating system..

I use Ubuntu but I switched back to XP. The only reason why I switched back to XP is because other people who visit my home don't know how to use Ubuntu. Windows XP is a stable OS though and it has fewer conflicts with it's peripherals unlike Linux, it constantly has video card compatibility issues.

I prefer Linux primarily because I cannot & will not pay hundreds of dollars for an operating system that crashes as often as windows does. My Linux machine will run for weeks or months at a time without crashing and without the need for a reboot. I can install a hundred programs and not need to reboot the machine. A Linux machine will literally do anything a windows machine will do, and more. The only thing I miss are the games. There are quite a few Linux games out there, but in order to maintain complete compatibility for complex, high end games, the game has to be compiled on your system, and game-makers aren't too hip on providing the source code when it can be copied and modified.

Myself i definitely prefer Windows because i'm a normal user and i don't require any of Linux's features. And i'm also a gamer and i don't think most of PC games i like support Linux and if they do they may have performance issues so what can i say? Windows for life!
