Myspace can be a good thing, but recently I heard of little kids getting in trouble over it. Do you have a myspace? Also discuss your general thoughts about myspace.

I no longer have a myspace....It's not just little kids (teens)getting in trouble on there...I got tired of the games and BS, being contacted by other women to ask my relationship with any of my male friends on my myspace site...I'm not talking young twenty somethings and teens..but women in the 40's..jealous, backstabbing vindictive women who have no concern about whose life they damge to get what they want...they don't hire hitmen to get rid a rival..they just go after their self esteem...I know several women and one male whose lives were turned upside down by that crap...I have nothing nice to say about myspace other than it is a cult for teenagers and a lonely hearts club for women I wouldn't want to know in person!

I use www.classmates.com to keep in touch with friends from high school...as for my other friends..I use the phone not the internet to keep in touch.

That does sound like an awful view of it, however it IS a VERY valid point. It's not for everyone. I don't stay on there to chat back and forth for everyone to see my site. I enjoy it being able to keep in touch with old friends and current friends and see waht they're up to at college. Facebook is also a good option if you're in school as well. I actually think facebook is expanding past school now.

There ya go. To each his own. I heard there was a recent murder case because of communication through myspace. There are millions and millions of users on that site and even more passing through. "Tom" is rich!

I wish I had a job that I could sit at the computer all day. Although I'm still in school and recently got into a sales position. I'm majoring in business so hopefully I'll be there soon!

I would dicuss myspace 'til the cows come home if you would explain it to me. Everyone seems to be talking about it. What is it, and how do I get it, and how do I use it? Thank you

It's good to see that it's so diverse. It can be very beneficial. If I had a kid I wouldn definetly monitor their activity on there or any internet for that matter.

Nothing like it. This is a general discussion forum. Topics are brought up and spoken on. I see no similarities between myspace and mylot besides a profile picture.

Anything under that is automatically set to private. Meaning you have to have someone added as a friend to view their page.

Just get out and put in friend requests to all people you know. When you start commenting on peoples pages..your old friends could stumble across it and recognize your picture.

Yes it is basically a profile. You don't necessarily have to make new friends but that certainly is an option. I mainly use it to keep in contact with my current friends.

I haven't been out long either, but I moved the second I graduated and since my parents don't live there anymore either I never go back, so I lost contact with most of the people I knew, it's useful for finding them.

i have a myspace account and i ONLY have friends on there that i have known for yrs or inperson. i think kids needs to be more careful when on that site and for parents to keep a closer eye on them, if they can. but i dont think its right for the media and whoever to blame the site for what happens to kids.

Thanks for the response! Good luck with it. I have found that I've been able to get back in touch with a LOT of old friends. You'd be amazed how many people will recognize your picture. That's why I always keep my real name! I hate looking through my friends list and seeing "Dis Be DA ONe DaT I lOVe" Hahaha I hate that!
