being picky has nothing to do with discrimination jackie. Being picky means that you only respond to those posts you find the most interesting, quality ones. Also you help your friends etc, but that doesn't mean that you won't respond to others at all. Besdies, it's impossible to respond to everything, even if you spent 24 hours a day here.

discrimination means choosing something over others. So if you just pick the ones you think is good enough, that's already a discrimination against all others. You've got reasons to discriminate one from the others. YOu know what i mean. some one of us will steer clear of topics that aren't cool or unintelligible at a glance.

by the way this is only some kind of survey-of honesty. lol. i teach esl so i completely understand whatever it is written here by the non-native speakers of English. I get Keywords and some facts and then i comment on the topics. But of course I read them first. I've given all of you + ratings. You deserve it.

Well, if being picky means not responding to subjects that I cannot identify with in even a remote way, then I'm picky.
Other than that, I couldn't care less who the posters are or what they do in their spare time.

I can say I am picky with discussions for a number of reasons. I have to be able to relate, understand, or know something about the topic before responding...
I can't just see a topic and go right in and start responding.
Sometimes some of these topics posted, I honestly don't understand or don't know anything about...
Like for instance, certain sports or tv shows in my country we possibly don't play or have it here, but in their country they do.
I stray away from topics I'm not familiar with..

i guess all of you who responded to this deserves + ratings. I gave all of the non-offensive responses a plus.

I think I am picky about the discussions I respond to. I don't care who the person is that started the discussion as long as it is on something I know about or am interested in. I don't like rap music so I would not post to a discussion on rap music. I think everyone has a choice and responds to the discusions that interest them.

I am not picky, I only respond to other people's discussion if I know what they are talking about and can offer a valid point or comment. If I have no interest or knowledge of a certain topic, I don't want to waste their time by putting in a comment that may not make sense to them or may not be valid on that topic. I try to respond to everyone that responds to my discussion that I have started. I have had people that have made comments in mine that haven't made sense to me or they will put just one word in. I like to be able to have enough to say to put a descent comment in, that way I don't feel like I am wasting the person who started the discussion time.
That's just how I feel.

You're right. It's a positive kind of discrimination. You choose one over something done haphazardly.

I don't think that I'm discriminating or picky, but I do answer the discussions started by the people on my friends list first, and this generally takes up most of the time that I'm posting here. Sometimes I have time to browse through other areas, but not often. That is part of the purpose of the friends list; you add people who have similar interests as you do, and then you have decent conversations to respond to and you can count on the majority of them t respond to your discussions.

I am picky about what I respond to not so much who... You have to be picky if you don't want to lose the money you earn. I don't want my responses deleted so I am careful about where I respond. If the discussion is a violation of the guidelines then I know eventually it will be deleted. So I don't bother with a response, even if it interests me. I think because I have been careful I have gained some money today while others were losing it. I'm not here for the money so I can afford to take my time and look for good discussions. After all that's why we are supposed to be here in my opinion...no one is going to get rich from responding...lol But the money is nice.:)

I would never chose not to respond to a discussion just because of who posted it, but I do tend to give priority to my friend's discussions. The content is way more importnant than who says it and that is what I decide on when choosing what to reply to.

I don't think that I am picky. I go threw my friends post first to see if there are any post I have interest in and then I respond. Then I will go to No response post, then New Discussion's, then I will go to recent. I do try to give everybody a shot.

Nope, I don't think I am picky at all. If I see a topic I want to respond to, I do. And it doesn't matter who started it!

I am not picky. I do the same as you. I just read the posts and respond to them like I just did :-). Whats the point in being picky. Ultimately you are going to respond to somebody. i even make it a point to respond to the posts by new people.

well its the user's choice.. but i am not picky about a particular person but about the topic. I just respond to the topic that interests me...what I also try to do, now, is to respond to the ones that have very few responses or are from new users.

i am not that picky as far as it is not an offensive one i dont answer to offensive discussions and discussions started for the heck of responses infact my main goal would be to answer to new discussions cos your response will be noticed and you will be helping the person get a point i like to help newbies cos theey are not used to it more

I am picky about the discussions I reply to. I only reply to ones that I have something to say about.
I don't see the point in replying to something I don't know anything about because I can't contribute anything worthwhile so will probably just get a negative rating if I do respond.
