I stopped eating rice a long time ago, not because I'm on a diet of some sort, it's just that I'm not fond of eating rice...instant diet though, is a bonus for me:)...sometimes, mostly friends, ask me how I maintain my body, I just told them that I don't eat rice..I will then hear comments that they cannot eat without rice (mostly in the Philippines) ...it's like rice is water to them..
Can you???

I don't eat rice that ofter maybe once a month. I wasnt really raised on it either though. For me it would be noodles, like spagetti, macoroni, fettucine. That is my weekness, I crave them and eat them at least once a week if not more.

Same here. I was never fond of eating rice and people would comment on that. They'd usually think that I'm dieting or something, which has never been the case. I just don't like eating rice.. I'm more of a pasta person just like you. If you want to see me REALLY eat, give me pasta. =)

I am Malaysia and we do eat a lot of rice. We eat twice a day and our main meal is rice. Not eating rice for me is still ok for a short time of period. But i can't just not eating rice for the whole month. I sometimes feel that i would not satisfy with my meal without rice. And it's not only me feels like this, my parent also the same.

Im also from the Philippines and i also eat rice almost everyday during lunch and dinner. More like because it is considered the staple food here. But i can get by without rice for a few meals or days, congee or noodles will suffice. However, i havent really tried going on several days without rice.

wow! good for you! but it really helps you diet. i, too, lost weight when i was just eating rice once a day. and boy was it great to lose those love handles ("bilbil")! i already tried not eating rice for 2 straight weeks. yes, i can eat without rice. there are times that i'd rather eat bread than rice :)

omg, growing up in hawaii where almost every meal had rice...i mean even spaghetti on some lunch plates had rice with it...but i have eaten meals that didn't need rice, but mostly, a must have in this house is Rice. i mean, anything in excess is bad and i know the reason behind good and bad cards. but if you just limit the amount of rice you eat its not that much of a problem. I LOVE MY FRIED RICE!!!

I eat a lot of rice because I was diagnosed with celiac disease. In the US, bread and pasta are the equivalent to rice in the Philippines. I have people ask me all the time how I can stand not being able to have bread or pasta. I simply tell them that I like rice and it's better than being sick.

I am a Filipina(from Philippines), it is true that we usually eat with rice as one of our food during meals. Some resident eat corn instead of rice. For me, I don't like to eat without a rice. It seems that I'm still hungry if I can't eat a rice.

I think it would be fairly easy to find meals without rice. You could always eat pasta or potatoes instead.
I like rice though so I would like to carry on eating it, but if for some reason I was told I couldn't have it any more I would be able to manage.

Yes, been doing it for a while. Coupled with bikram yoga, it's not that difficult. Amazing because with the yoga I do, I hardly feel hungry!
