We don't really celebrate St Patricks day in England, generally its just an excuse to drink more guiness than usual and get drunk.

I don't wear green on St. Patrick's Day, though I am half Irish. I try to celebrate my heritage every day, but I don't celebrate St. Patrick's Day, and this is why:
St. Patrick is a Catholic saint. What is being celebrated on St. Patrick's Day is not Ireland itself, but the bringing of Christianity to Ireland. I'm not Christian. The religion I follow is a modernly reconstructed version of the religion that Christianity replaced in Ireland. So the coming of St. Patrick represents a loss and not a gain to me.
That isn't to say that I think people who celebrate the holiday are bad, or that I begrudge their right to do so.

Yes we do but were Irish, We eat green eggs for breakfast (food colouring), wear green , white and orange face paint and head into the city for the fireworks(that never seem to be on st Patrick's day) On Paddy's day we head for the parade. This is only done for the kids benefit though.

No we never do anything on Saint Patricks Day and if I do happen to wear green on that day it is more to do with that is what I wanted to do for that day then what day it is .

I try not to celebrate a hoiday where the main event is drinking. Too few people celebrate it in any other way- other then wearing gree and getting intoxicated.

I used to when I was a kid growing up it was the thing to do. Now, I dont even pay it any mind and often remember St. Pat's day. So I dont do it anymore. I don't really care much if anyone asks me "where's your green"?
