There have been many TV shows that have made the transition to the big screen over the years. Some have been done very well while others have bombed. Do you have any that you really enjoyed or ones you really despised? Which ones were they?
For myself I loved many of them including:
Addams Family
Lost In Space
Star Trek
Beverly Hillbillies
There are a couple I've seen that they could have done a better job on including:
Dragnet
The Brady Bunch

The Fugitive series was great and the movie was wonderful. I love Harrison Ford!

I like him as well. Did you know Alec Baldwin was first offered that role? I'm glad he turned it down. I think Harrison Ford was a much better choice for it.

I love The Fugitive. How did I miss that one in my list? Of course I never really saw the original show, bit too young for that although I saw a few reruns.

Yeah I didn't care for the Hulk either. I loved the show with Bill Bixby and I found the movie just left me wishing I had the show on DVD to watch.

We just managed to get The Addams Family and Addams Family Values on DVD. Wal-Mart had a set of them (both movies on 1 disc) for under $10. I couldn't beat that price especially not for two movies I love. I didn't like Adams Family Reunion but 2 out of 3 isn't bad.

Heheh on your honeymoon? Oook I won't ask on what else you did :) Lost in Space I liked but it was very different from the show. It had more of a serious and dark edge to it that the original didn't. I did like the fact that they got everyone who was still alive of the original cast to be in the movie.

Firefly to Serenity. The series was wonderful, but ended too soon. The movie wasn't quite as good, but it had all the same actors and tied up a lot of loose ends. I think every Firefly fan was grateful.

How about Lassie, Casper the Friendly Ghost, Scooby Doo. : )

Actually Lassie was first a movie and then a tv show and then a movie again. Easy to confuse. I had to double check on it.
I loved Casper and Scooby-doo. Both were well done. I also liked Casper meets Wendy. Hilary Duff did a great job as Wendy.

I really like the Mission Impossible Movies. I think they are great action movies. I also really liked the Charlies Angesl movies. I am glad that they didn't try to actually recreate the show, but they took the premise and ran with it. I also liked Miami Vice, but not because of the show. I mean they kind of went with the premise and didn't really try to recreate the show also, but it was a pretty good story.
I absolutely hated The Dukes Of Hazzard. I think they just went all wrong with it.

To be honest I haven't seen the newer ones, Miami Vice and Dukes. I heard Dukes of Hazzard not to bother with. I haven't really heard much on the Miami Vice one.

Bewitched was not what I expected when it come onto the big screen. Still it was cute and fluffy just like the original.
The Brady Bunch was down right scary bad...more than once.
Starsky and Hutch was mildly funny.
Oh what was the one with Don Johnson, Colin Ferrel just played him on the big screen... yeah oh Duh,,,,,Miami Vice. It obviously did not stick out in my mind lol.
I liked the Star Trek movies alot! But I was in a different age group then.
Some were dogs and some were not bad.

It seems everyone has missed "Mission: Impossible" in their list..
That one surely earned well with 3 films already. It's been remade already on TV, then it jumped to the big screen.
I wonder if "MacGyver" will ever be revived...

Of course Scooby-Doo counts. So does Josie and The P*ssy Cats. (I couldn't put the actual word in :() There have been a lot but amazing how we blank on them isn't it? I know when I started to make up the list I was ok for one or two and then I had to rattle the brain a bit.

I didn't like the Bewitched movie, although many thought it was cute. I'm a huge fan of the original series, so they really never had a chance with me. Nicole Kidman is a terrific actress, but she just didn't get Samantha's nose wiggle right! Plus, I didn't like the concept of the movie (which was about them doing remake of the Bewitched series, but ha ha the girl they hire is a real witch), I would have rather seen them do it another way. And Will Farrell as Darren? They should have used Jim Carrey!

I agree. The movie was ok and I enjoyed it but it wasn't as good as I was hoping it to be. I didn't like Will Farrell in the role. It just seemed like something was missing. Not sure if Jim Carrey would have worked though since Darren was more the straight man during things.

I completely forgot about Bewitched. I agree with you about the nose wiggle and what made it worse was that they actually made a big deal about it in the movie. I think the premise was pretty good, as I don't think they could have tried to just remake it. I just don't think it would have worked. But I wasn't really a huge fan of the show, I mean i watched it a lot but I wouldn't call myself a fan. Anyways, to me the movie was just okay.

They're usually pretty terrible but since folks know the characters and title, the movie execs think its an easy sell.
Actually, the Addams family wasn't too bad. And the Sgt. Bilko movie was so bad I don't think it was ever in the theaters.
