I've read MANY great books but I never go back and read them again because I figure there's always a new story waiting for me. But, I know people who will reread a book they read before and really liked. Do you do this?

I don't know that I'd like horror books. The few I've read seem to be a bit hookie. Does Anne Rice write like that or about more real scenarios?

anne rice is a wonderful author i have read all but 5 of her books and reread every one of those alot. if you liked the cronicles you should try the mayfair books: the witching hour, lasher and taltos. then the mayfairs join with cronicles for three books. cry to heaven is one i have read many times also.

I reread books all the time. I can't throw a book away, or donate it, or anything. I read Starship Troopers so much, I'm on my second copy, because the first fell apart in my hands. Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series is getting that way, and it's 10 books and counting. None less than 600 pages. I love revisiting old characters. They're like my friends.

No, I have never read a book more than once. There are way too many books I don't have time to read to waste time reading a book I have already read. I have over 200 books in my house right now that are UNREAD by me. Lord knows when I will find time to read them all but I won't get rid of them. I won't read a book twice, no matter how much I enjoy it.

That's the same way I feel! I may reread Sidney Sheldon's 'Master of the Game' in a few years when I forget most of it. But for the most part, I'd rather just keep reading new books.

Hmm, my sis is a big fan of Anne of Green Gables, both books and the TV series. I watched the series but haven't read the books before. I may read them one day.

To be honest I find books are like best friends, I can visit them frequently and enjoy their company. I have a large collection of books and enjoy re-reading them on many occasions.

All the time, especially Stephen King novels.....everytime you read them, you get something new from them.....but I re-read a lot of books and the same thing happens, you'll see something or catch something that you didn't the first time around

I have read a lot of my books again and again. The stories are just so monumental and wonderful that I want to experience them again and again. The only way to do that is to truly sink yourself into them.

I have a lot of books that I've read more than once. I've read "To Kill a Mocking Bird" at least three or four times. Then there is my copy of "The Goblin Companion" and I've read that quite a few times too. Rereading books can be a lot like watching your favorite TV show or movie over again. It's nice to revist characters you really care about or really liked.

I love to reread books from my childhood, like the Chronicles of Narnia, or any of the Beverly Cleary books. They are all feel good books that are a quick and easy afternoon read then I can go on to another book that same day. I do love a new story though!

I have read several books over and over. The most I have read over is Stephen King's "The Stand".(9times). I like reading books again cause there is always something I missed the first time around.

I have reread books that I thought were very good ones. I keep a couple of favorites around for when the mood strikes me to read them again. I do the same with favorite movies too I will watch them again and again. I always find something I have missed in them before.

I often re-read books. It is more likley that it is a book I am reading to my children that I'm reading again, but I often re read books I like too. After a few years I have forgotton what the books are about and I get something different out of each reading. I guess though it depends what sort of books you read.

I reread my favourite books all the time! My favourite ones are The True Story of Lilli Stubeck by James Aldridge and also The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time. Enid Blytons are easy to read again too.

boy, do i ever. some of my favorite books have literally fallen apart because of re-reading (on my part). nowadays i try to pace myself so i won't memorize the sequence of scenes (and thus reducing my reading pleasure)

I can only say a certain book is my favorite if I read it twice (or even more than)... personally, I consider something as my "favorite" If I already did, eat, or had it more than once.. Have a nice day!

i also never re-read books. its because i already knew what would happen next. there's not much thrill the second time around. hehe. but i did that for one book, Paulo Coelho's "The Alchemist." I keep on re-reading and re-rading the book because it is an easy-read and very insightful...

I use to think that way too,mom......Why read a book that I've already read and than one day, while taking a 36 hour train ride I had finished the 2 books I had brought so I decided to re-read the first one and man,did I pick up things that I didn't see the first time around.....it was Stephen King's 'Nightmares & Dreamscapes'....what a difference the second time around.....I have now read it about 4 times and everytime I pick it up I get what this man is trying to say in his book more and more clearer
