Do u give pocket money to ur children??

Hi, I have a teenage daughter who earns her own money now, but when she was younger she had to earn her pocket money by doing a few little chores around the house like washing up or tidying her room. I think children need to know the value of money and by giving them chores to do helps them learn this!

I do give a $1 to my children to buy small eats and use them, for busfares when they forget their school pass. I will give yet another dollar after receiving an account for the old dollar, if found that they are spending money satisfactorily.

when i am in u.k he has weekly pocket money..cos we go every week to the shop and he buys somethings he like collecting..it's a mum and kid doing something together thing..sometimes if i have been a bit short i have rolled it over and it helps him to understand sometimes about budgeting etc..now i am in u.s for a few months i have subcribed to two things he wanted which was a little more than his pocket money..and i told him he can choose..his father buys him things as and when he needs..i did it this way..because i take an interest in his hobbies..

I have two children and I think at their ages of 5 and 2 they are too young to get pocket money. If I want to give them some money I put it into bank accounts for them which I'm going to use to pay for them to get a degree if they want to. I think that it is good to give them a bit when they get older but only a small amount so they have to save up so they learn the value of money.
