How many hours?
I can stand like maybe a day and a half without sleep, but that's it!
More than that you'll find me really groggy and not myself anymore, haha... my brains would automatically be commanding my eyelids to shut and it would be so hard to control...
Being a fine arts student we might as well be known to be awake during the wee hours of the night and going straight how many days without sleep.. but I am not one of them! hahaha!! I can't even last 48 hours without sleep!
How about you? How many hours was the longest time you were awake straight? And what was that you were occupied with that kept you up all those hours?

I think this is my longest too, and it was not a good feeling. I stayed awake this long in college, and nowadays I do not think that I could ever manage this. They use sleep deprivation as a method of tortune, you know. I love naps. I have no clue how I managed to stay awake that long!

I have done lots of night outs during my college days, sometime to complete some assignment or sometime to watch 3 4 movies at a streach or playing games, so 36 hrs of sleeplessness was kinda usual for me, but i can forget how a felt when i went without sleep for almost 48hrs, me n my friend joined a game programmin contest at the last moment n we had only few days to complete it, we somehow made it, but had lot of bugs, so we did night out for 2 days n then went to the contest, sad thing we didnt won any prize there.
Thanbks,

Jus to add, staying awake for long, is harmful, ppl. can surive longer without food that without sleep, so plz nobody try to atay awake for long, unless we are pressed for time, n try to avoid such situations as they affect our health very badly in the long run.
Thnanks.

The longest was one day and a half too for me because we were trying to finish our project for college and deadline was afternoon the next day. So no sleeping until we had it all submitted. There were a minute of closing our eyes here and there but we still didnt get more than that.

I can think of one instance when I was awake more than 24 hours. One was when I had to stay overnight at work for a project. I was up for 26 hours, and I still had difficulty falling asleep when I got home. I also had a difficult time when we were coming home from an outing once. I was up around 8am, and I drove 13 hours going home from 12 noon to up to 2am the next day. There was no one to spell me at the wheel, but it was a good thing I had a bottle of Red Bull to keep me going. When we got home, I still had trouble falling asleep haha! The first instance wasn't so demanding, since I can rest from time to time; but driving almost constantly while keeping alert and awake was really the hardest thing, even harder than going a day and a half without sleep.

Wow was that tiring or what! Driving 13 hours? straight? That's very tiring and stressful as well just imagining having to stare at the road for that long and not to mention having to keep yourself awake all those time.. whew pressure pressure!
And yeah sometimes when we get to tired and we go way past our bed time, instead of falling asleep right there and then it would turn out that we would have trouble sleeping... sucks!

The longest period of time, I have gone, without sleep, is 48 hours. That was a few years ago when I started a new job, working night-shift in a factory.
Previously I had been used to going bed at a reasonable hour and waking up in the morning. I guess because I upset my sleep pattern, when I should have been going sleep, I was busy working. After working for two nights, my body and mind finally wanted to give in, I fell asleep. The only trouble was, I was sat up at the time, with my arms up and rested over the sofa, when I woke up they were in agony because the blood had drained out of them.
When I left my job to stay home and look after my children, I found it difficult to get back into a normal sleep pattern, even now I can be up to all hours, when I really should be sleeping.

And do you remember how it feels to be awake like for 48 hours when your body just feels so tired.. your back hurts and feels like you were drained of all the energy you have, the whole body just feels so heavy ang tight... I hate that, specially when I'm reminded of those times when I had to do that in order to finish our projects, hahaha

For me, I never tried not sleeping for a day...yet. The longest time that I went without sleeping was like 21 hours, which isn't close to a day. Maybe when I have a project will I begain to experence sleep deprivation...

I can stay awake for about 30 hours at anytime without any problems.
I had record some few months back. I joined the new company. I was going through the training in my new company and at the same time I had to work for my old company as in notice period. That time, I remembered, I have spend about 48 hours at a stretch and then I went to sleep. I had slept about 12 hours after that.

I college it was pretty close to 2 days once. The worst part of that was that I actually went to my 8am class (since I was up!) and left my $80 textbook under my seat. It was never turned in and I had to buy another one. :-(

I can stay up at most 54 hours, and I always stay up, because I only can get concentration during the night hours, so many times I have to stay up to do my study.
P.S: My mom is a master of staying up, I remember she could keep more than 3 days without sleep, so maybe this is heredity, hehehe~~

I guess my longest hour without sleep is 26 straight hours without taking a nap or anything like that. I used to work for a call center and I had a graveyard shift. Unfortunately, I didn't sleep in the afternoon because I'm not used to taking naps then I had to go to work until the wee hours of the morning and I was in front of a computer and at the same time taking calls during my entire shift. It was really exhausting and it felt like they just suck the life out of me! hehehe! Good thing I was still able to reach home after my work.

I have remained awake for 45 hours and that is the longest. That was during my college semester exams when i had to study without sleep.
The next longest is 24 hours. I was playing Age of Mythology game throughout the night.

I have gone without sleep for two days because I had to stay up all night studying for a test the next morning. I had to take the exam, go to other classes and then after my classes I had to go to work and I stayed up all that day. It was pretty bad, but I think I could do it for three days as well. I heard the genius people didn't sleep much because they were so passionate about their creations, studies and understanding what they were trying to do (such as Einstein). Have a nice day.
