Who else thought the guys' performances on American Idol were bad?

I was suprised by how bad last night's group of singers were. There were only 3 guys that could carry a tune, and out of 12 guys that's really bad! Why did the judges kill off diversity? No rockers, no country, no jazz...
What did you think about last night?

Nerves! I am hoping that's what it is and that these men come out and sing much better in the weeks that follow-- or boy are we in for a long season.
I liked Chris, Jared and the last guy (the one who had a baby girl on the day he preformed first).. He was good-- he sounded the most rock to me-
Chris Daughtry spoiled us last year! I loved him--- Still do.. Wish we had a rocker like that to push through!
No favorites yet!

I think all of the guys seemed really nervous last night and it effected thir performances. Hopefully the girls will do much better tonight. I was surprised, though, at how off and how out of tune some of the guys were. Who knows? Maybe this will be a year for a female winner.

I did not feel that they were bad but they were not nearly as good as the ladies were this evening. The women did so much better than the guys and would make a guess right now, that a woman will be the next American Idol though it is still early. The guys will need to do better next time to make their chances better. I also think the judges were a bit rough last night as they were not all bad.

I wonder the same thing about diversity. I mean, Chris, Bo and even Constatine have proven that rockers can go from Idol to bigger things.
And Carrie Underwood has been one of the biggest things in country music since her idol days, oh and even Kelly Pickler, Josh Grayson and Bucky Convington have albums. SO there is definately a road for from idol to country music.
I really enjoyed the diversity, and I think it will be sorely missed this season.
As for this season, so far I am disapointed. last night, the guys were overall boring. I liked Blake and Phil, but that is about it, and even those two had some issues.
I sure hope that the women are beter tonight and that the entire show gets better as we move along.

I certainly enjoys the ladies better tonight... although I think the guys might put on a better show next week then they did this week. I wonder how many of the ladies changed their song choice today, after last nights critiques...
