If so, what did you learn and did you enjoy the class? I've taken all three of the basic Wilton courses and had a great time!

I would love to take these classes. How do you find out if they are offered in your area. I tried to go on the website, but it is "currently no available"
It sounds like so much fun!
I PRETEND to be able to decorate cakes.... but really I cannot at all!

Do you live near a Hobby Lobby or a Michael's craft store? They often times offer these classes. Might check with JoAnn's too.. if they're in your neighborhood. That's where I'd look first. If no luck there, you might even ask at your local bakery to see if they know who in your area teaches classes. Good luck!

I finally got on the Wilton site and they do offer classes at Hobby Lobby and at Michaels. They are an hour away, but unfortunately, everything seems to be an hour away from me.... GGGGGRRRRRRR..... it's frustrating, but I am going to check it out anyways! Thanks~

I would love to have taken a few cake courses I love decorating cakes and everyone seem to like them but I have always wanted them to look more professionally done up. How much does the courses cost and are they in all areas?

The Wilton courses are offered in many cities throughout the US and I believe in Canada, not 100% sure about Canada though.
They're affordable, you'll spend more money on supplies than on the courses themselves. I think I paid about $25 a course and then about that much on materials for each class. I loved the hobby, took it up and started buying a lot of products.
I'm into shaped cakes now, not something they taught me in class, but something I prefer doing over sheetcakes!

hey, i'm a hotel management graduate and i enjoyed all my cake decoration classes which was a part of bakery practicals. i think as opposed to beating the dough for bread-rolls, i simply love decorating cakes using different types of cake-icings!!!

I took a basic online course, and studied the wilton website for how to make flowers etc. I would love to take a Wilton course, but I'm a stay at home mom and just don't have the time. the classes are only on a weeknight, and interfere with dinner and hubby coming home from work...maybe one day.

I have always been too afraid to step out of my comfort zone and try stuff. But, I have recently taken to cooking a lot. I made my first homemade cake and cookies and a few other things this week. I loved it. I am going to keep cooking for sure. But, I have also been considering taking a cake decorating class. I want to do it to learn. It looks so fun. Plus how neat would it be to make something fun for my children. My worry is that I am not too creative or talented. But, I am guessing they teach you pretty good? I may have to look into it. Is it really pricey? Thanks for posting this. It has really made me thing.

I like an birthday cake with ice cream, but not any kind of ice cream only caramel ice cream, because that is my favorite and it is a pleasure for me to eat it! I love very light white cake with light whipped cream icing and fresh strawberries. I also love flour less molten lava chocolate cake. Right now I'm going to run to buy an ice cream because you make me to think at something like this.
