The question is; would you ever choose to be a High School teacher? You are welcome to elaborate, and I'm particularly interested in reasons for saying no. Thank you for your help with this.

I could never teach people of that age. I would be too afraid of losing control of them. I know I would feel great if I stimualted them and they acheived a lot, but I dont' think there is a subject that I'm enthusiastic enough about to teach.

I think beeing a teacher is one of the most important careers one might have. i would, however, not choose to be one. the reason for this is I hate to stand in front of a group and talk. I have practised doing this for years and years as people tell me it will get better with practice. It does not get any better. had I been able to teach one or two student at a time high scool teacher may just be my career of choice.

I don't think I could ever be a high school teacher. I have a lot of respect for those that have chosen to be! Being a high school teacher is probably a very hard job! They recieve very little respect and have to deal with a lot of people that just dont care.

I don't think that being a high school teacher is such a good idea. When you are "a little kid" at that age (13 to 18) your hormones are going crazy. This make you totally unpredictable, un- teachable, and usally anti-social. I was.

I say no to a High School teacher, I always have problem with standing in front of the class talking, or teaching, I just the type who really can't teach others..

I love teaching children, I used to enjoy teaching my younger cousins, and now I love teaching my daughter. But, I would not be a teacher. It takes a lot out of you. The wages aren't that great, you need a lot of patience (all the children are not alike, some will be slower, some will be quicker, a few nice, a few naughty, a few hyper). You have to prepare lessons in advance, question papers, practise sheets, rate answer sheet, take home work, worry about the slow ones. Oh the list goes on!

Thank you for your comment. What you have mentioned is the side of teaching that I think most people are aware of, but few ever mention.
