Would you 'buy' an excuse?

Apparently, there's an online shop that is selling 'excuses' to people in China. You can buy what is considered an 'everyday excuse' for the equivalent of 80p (British money), while an excuse for a break up with someone would cost you £8.40p.
The most expensive excuse you can buy is one to turn down a marriage proposal!
You can read more here:

So my questions are: Would you buy an excuse? If so, do you think that these prices sound fair? What do you think about this idea? And if you did buy an excuse, what type would it be? Feel free to answer any or all of the questions, or just talk about the news story. Thank you! ^_^

This is really funny and absurd, I wouldn't think that it can work and people would actually pay for it.. I wouldn't buy any excuses, I can make my own thank you! And thinking about it, I helped too many friends to come up with excuses, I should have charged them for it.. lol

What a novel idea, Tony Blair's government has been buying them for years, hoping that they are so original that no-one will realise that they can fool all of the people all of the time, British rail bought a job lot of them as well for excuses for the trains being delayed - 'Wrong kind of leaves on the line', 'Snow too wet', 'Snow too dry', 'Wrong kind of rain', 'Too many passengers', 'Not enough passengers'. On some services they are trying to limit the number of passengers by vastly increasing the ticket price.

It is a blantant but sneaky way to keep people from interacting. We don't do much in person anymore. Have even heard of people marrying a barbie doll toy. It is a shame that we cannot participate in face to face interaction like we used to do. Another way we are losing our humanity.

I don't think I would be interested in buying because I make the best excuses! Maybe they should be buying from me then? I'd love to give it at a lower price lol. :D Kidding aside, whoever thought about this novel idea is a genius. Who would have thought that we can actually make money from doing one of the most natural thing in the world? Truly, everything has its price nowadays. I think i'd like to be in this business hmm...

haha this is definitely something. talk about finding a niche in the market... I think it's definitely a great idea to simply make money by "selling excuses"...I wouldn't buy an excuse (I can think up some pretty good ones on my own :P)but maybe someone will..who knows. If I WOULD buy an excuse, I would be scared that the excuse doesn't suit me and the situation I'm in, for example if I want one for being late (everyday excuse, I guess?) and then it's about something that's not even part of my lifestyle, then that investment will have been for nothing... Still nice try from the owners with this idea!
Thanks for this interesting, very different, piece of news! ^^

OMG what a stupid idea but I suppose if it makes them money well!!! I think the best thing you can do if you are late right up to calling off a marriage is to simply tell the truth , In my book you will be more thought of in the end xx

LOL no! I thin I am capableof making up my own! Just seems like a waste of money to me. Surely if someone is old enough to work, or be in a relationship or whetever, they ought to be able to think of one.

My response to this would be that if there is money to be made from vertualy anything someone will try it.
We all have been in the need for excuses from time to time. But there is one problem with buying one. Once you have given the excuse where do you go from there. Hardly ever do you get away with stating an excuse without a further explaination. Very much like the old statement......"If at first we plan to decieve oh what a tangled web we wieve". Not likely you can buy your way out of that.

That was great marketing strategy they have lol!!
As for me I still was on my exact mind and I will not buy excuses what for!! excuse me then but I will not lol!
Excuses are only best used when the excuse was true but if it is only pigment of lies and imagination I can't really imagine how as that supposed to be called a good excuse.

Of course, the idea of selling excuses is a unique idea. But,why should anyone buy an excuse? Make up your own excuses. Afterall the only faculty required for making excuses is your own imagination. Use your brains ...don't throw away money to buy excuses. Instead, donate that money to charity.

i guess this isn't such a weird idea. People are forking out big dough on something they can't find use in and shopping for signature clothes almost every day. What's 80p for those pampered kids? As for me, I won't ever buy excuses. This is insane, what with all those bills coming every month. I can always make an excuse to save my hide, and if it doesn't work, well I'll just have to try harder next time, or maybe I won't let myself back in a corner. Being nice shouldn't be hard, especially when you don't have a cent to your name. ('you' is me) ;)

well i am surprised, but i am sorry to say i would not like to buy any excuse and that too at such an expensive rate, i am smart enough to make excuses but thanks this particular site will be quite useful to those who are more in habit of making excuses. the other thing that is rolling into my mind is that may be a single excuse might not be good enough and you have to buy another and another.

I imagine someone is making money for this site, but I wouldn't ever use it. I can make something up on my own. Something a little closer to home works best and since they don't know us, or our family and stuff, I think I could come up with a better one. I'll bet they're making money, though! lol

Cute Q but I suspect NO, for me at least. THE DOG ATE MY HOMEWORK, never "worked" either LOL.
Obviously whatever the "market" demands and will bear can be purchased. I have to bet there are no warrantees with the excuses purchased however.
FAIR is pretty relative and subjective. AND it would have to be a LIE that worked without consequences or guilt, BUT WHY???? in the first place.
Example: One HATES their JOB. They call work, "OMG, the worst thing happened and I can't make it to work today."
Why bother? That LIE has to be explained, regarded, maybe explored, and expanded on.

It sounds like the "excuse" is just a joke. The company sells it, but it cant possibly be meant to be anything but funny. I think it would be a waste of money, but somee people might find it funny.
