Well, we certainly notice that not everyone washes their hands in the public toilet after peeing. The question is do you? Or do you sometimes feel lazy to do it?

Heck yes!! I always always always wash my hands after going to the restroom!! I'll wash my hands even if I go look at myself in the mirror in the restroom and touch the door handle and not even pee! I always wash my hands if I touch anything in the bathroom because I know not everyone always washes their hands and the door handle is what they touch right after peeing! They're so disgusting!! I hope you wash your hands, too!

Did you know that urine is sterile? It's fecal matter that can make you sick! Urine is too acidic to support any kind of life, bacterial or viral.

Yes, as a matter of habit. I grew up with the consciousness. It was inculcated in our minds that it is very important always to wash our hands thoroughly with soap and water after we do that. This is the reason why I find it bad that public toilets hardly provide soap for their clients.

I ALWAYS ALWAYS do!! End of story. But other people DON'T! ANd guess what, we share hand shakes and door knobs and who knows what other things we touch that they touch. It's rather disgusting. Which is why I DO wash my hands. I don't want to spread germs and who knows what else. ONe of the best things you can do to keep from getting sick is to wash your own hands frequently.

I always wash my hands...there is no telling what I have gotten on the throughout the day so I don't want to just leave it =) And I want to set a good example for my kids...I don't want them to be the icky kids that have dirty hands. BUT during the night if I have to get up to go to the pbathroom I won't wash my hands...the faster I can get it done and get back to bed the better!

yes. kids should have a role model which is why parents must emulate their best practice.

To be honest i never use to do it,never gave it a second thought. But now with my mum being in hospital lately and reading up on hygiene i wash my hand every single time,i even say to people if they're going to walik out the toilet without washing their hands. The only problem is you can wash your hands but if someone dosn't and comes out the toilet and puts their hand on a door handle or on a bannister to walk down the stairs and you do the same your back to square one you grt their toilet on your hands. But what can you do bout other people. What can we do walk about with gloves on?

yeah. it is why public toilets are sometimes unsanitary. maybe a handy alcogel would do the trick after you go out of the restroom.

I do, but I'll admit, if I'm in a hurry, I'll use antibacterial soap that I always keep by the sink.

I was about to say I always do.... but that's not true. Usually if I get up in the middle of the night to pee, I just do it and then go back to bed. But during the day (or night, if I haven't gone to sleep yet) I always do. In fact, I recently noticed at a friends house that she didn't have soap by her bathroom sink and I was really grossed out. I told myself, THATS why she's always sick, and reached for the purell in my purse!

Call me compulsive but I can never use my hands to touch anything if I've not washed them after using the toilet. As a matter of fact, i wash my hands two or three times after using the toilet - just to make sure i get rid of as many of the bacteria as possible.

now this can be a dilemma for you. do you touch the knob of a public toilet knowing that some people do not really practice the same hygiene practice as yours?

Yes I do. THough sometimes I won't do the whole "sing the abc's to know you've washed your hands long enough" as my hands get badly chapped in winter so I try to avoid it just a wee bit this time of year. Otherwise I'm happy as a clam to wash my hands, as I have kids and we get sick more than I'd like.

As much as possible I wash my hands after peeing since it becomes dirty when yu pee. But that only happens when I am peeing in a comfort room- which hapens most of the time. But there are times that I don't...

I take it as a tradition to wash my hands after peeing and using the toilet. It is ideal because germs find one way of getting in touch with body when we enter the toilet or dirty environment. Most people are highly impatient that is why they do not take time to get themselve cleanup

lol what a funny question to ask. I do wash my hands after using the restroom while at work and or while im out and about however if i wash them at home is my own business and i don't notice that people really wash their hands when they are at home
