Getting That Song Unstuck From Your Mind

musical instruments - if it weren't for musical instruments songs just wouldn't seem the same. They add the rhythm for which makes the song betterr. just my opinion though.

For three days now I have had the same song stuck in my head. It is getting rather annoying since I have no clue what the song is called. Just something I heard on the radio and now the lyrics are permanently stuck in my brain cells. Has this happened to you? if so, how did you get the song unstuck from your mind?

Right now I am going throught the same thing. I have had a song stuck in my head for 3 days now. It's called When Your Heart Stops Beating by +44. I was flipping through the channels and it was on Much Music, for some reason I just had to watch and sure enough it got stuck. Sometimes listening to it over and over and over till you get sick of it works, or listening to another song you fully enjoy might jar it lose. Good luck :)

Thanks for the advice. I will have to see if I can find the name of the song and see if listening to it over and over helps with the situation. I have been playing my favorite music since I got back online an hour ago and my thoughts somehow get reverted right back to that annoying song. GRR!!

Here's part of it: "1600 miles to cry it out 1600 miles until the airplane touches down To relive every moment since the day we met Remember how forever felt And then forget 27 days of walking on the sun 27 days believin' I had found the one. Finally learning what true passion's all about." It's a good song, I just find it annoying when I have a song stuck in my head when I am trying to think of other things.

that happens to me a lot of times! sometimes its because you keep hearing it and until you know it, you've already memorized it and keeps playing in your head. this is called here in our country as the LS syndrome or LSS. it means last song syndrome. lol its sometimes annoying coz we sometmes keep on singing a song we dont like just because we keep hearing it. but it will go away eventually. if you want to stop immediately, listen to other songs that you really like.

Thanks for your reply. That reminds me of like what I do sometimes with that neverending song that goes like "this is the song that never ends it goes on and on my friend, some people starting singing not knowing what it was, but they'll continue singing it just because it is the song that never ends". That song annoys me and I don't like it, but I catch myself singing it out of the blue when it is really quiet or I have become rather bored with the day.

Its happened quite a few times, but I actually enjoy it and rarely get annoyed by it! One way to get it out of your mind is to listen to some other song/songs continuously so something else is on your mind! All the best.

Yup... it can be annoying when it interrupts your normal train of thoughts or keeps distracting you!

Thanks for your reply. It's only annoying to me, cause it has a habit of interrupting other thoughts at the wrong times. Otherwise if I am not busy or not really in the need to think mode I don't mind it all that much.

Well at least you have a normal song stuck in your head. Last night I was flipping the tv stations looking for something to watch. I stopped flipping and went to do something for a second. Next thing you know there is a pbs comercial playing "seseame street" I had that theme song stuck in my head for hours...lol

Oh no!! Not Seaseme Street! I have heard that theme song so many times now that I have learned how to block it out. I'm surprised that hasn't gotten stuck in my head as much as it is on here with the kids.

Usually it helps to listen to other things for a long period of time, until you are no longer having problems with said song being permanently planted in your brain cells. Although it is wise to listen to a wide variety of stuff so songs don't get stuck in one's head. :D
