or is it pretty steady. This last 3 days, I ended up frustrated after spending hours looking for a good discussion I could respond to comfortably and fail. I ended up turning my computer off and wait for a good day. Fortunately, I found some good ones today. I was hoping to reach my goal on a daily basis but it just won't work unless I stop being choosy. LOL

I believe the secret to mylot success is the ability to respond to most discussions.
I really like it because it helps my writing skills and also makes a person think about things that normally would go unnoticed.
I think the chances of making lots of money are pretty slim, but still it is not a bad way to pass some time.
I think I should be able to make $50-60 per month. All depends on how much time I get to spend on the computer.
Sometimes I work out of town and its not going to be possible.

My interest does waiver. When I first signed up I found a lot of discussions to respond to right away. After the first couple of weeks though.. I notice I don't find as many discussions as I would like to. This past Friday, I kept hitting refresh on the new discussions link but I never found any discussions I was interested in.

Yes, mine interest is waning. For the first three months I averaged over $30 a month. February I spent less time on myLot as I was busy with some writing projects and was ill part of the month. But, the past 3 or 4 day, it has been very difficult to find engaging discussions, even in my interest catagories. I know what you are saying about be choosy...we must be to some extent. There is no point in replying to a discussion that we know will be deleted. I hope things get better and I am able to resume my daily activities to reach my goals. I hope that for you too. Happy posting.

Yes there are days when I don't feel like responding or doing new posts. It's either because I don't have much time to browse around for interesting topics or because I don't see anything interesting worth my time. I need to catch up on household chores because I will be away from home in the next six months.

My priority has been to filter through to read and respond to quality posts. This is quite a task recently as not many new posts are created on relevant issues. More than often, most posts are regarding mylot.com.
I hope that every time you and me and the many others feels this way, we will prompt ourselves to create more quality discussions.

My interest is usually pretty steady. I'm still fairly new to this site though, but I don't really see that changing. I really like the variety of discussions that are here and can almost always find a few really good ones to respond to. Maybe you're not being too choosy, maybe you just post really good quality responses, LOL!

Well apparently your "Goal" is to make money here. Then yes you are correct in that it should not matter what the discussion is about, just write a few sentences and move on to the next.
I think and practice that the true purpose of this forum is for quality discussions that I find that are of my interest group. If it makes me a couple of bucks fine. I am sure not going to retire on MYLOT's income. But then I work a 50-60 hour work week at my job. I have little time for the not-so-serious MYLOT'er.
I first try to come up with thought provoking or humorus topics 1-5 a week, then I try to get through all my responses, pick BEST RESPONSE, and rate everything. I then go to my friends list and respond to as many of their topics (that interest me or I feel qualified to respond to) and go from there. Believe it or not - that takes a lot of time.
But in so doing I find I am getting to know them, I appreciate their discussions and feel that sort of a bond is forming. We have a mutal respect for each others opinions and we try to be fair and just. Other than that I believe that anything else would be a waste of my time in reading.
I hpe this answered your question and Good Luck to you.

I have lost my interest in mylot and I now just take a little peek through for a few moments and maybe respond to some discussions that catch a little of my attention. I guess I'm sticking for a little bit longer just to see if I can get anymore money out of this. It's bad but it's the way I see it now. I used to be so into the conversations. Guess that didn't last long.

There are a few reasons that my interest in Mylot is starting to fluctuate.
1. Some of the discussions I can't relate to, or some discussions that don't fit my lifestyle curretly.
2. I only respond to more than 5 responses and those that have a high number of replies. If it's popular, I will respond.

Yep. I spent a lot of time here at the end of last month, making sure I got my payout. Then I took 3 days off and did other miscellaneous stuff online, just for the fun of it. I came back here last night and spent quite a while reading and posting. It was nice to have a breath of fresh air. I think I'll continue to do more posting to ensure my payouts, then have time to do other stuff, rather than doing just a little bit each day and pushing to reach $10 at the end of the month.

I personally try to average around 70 posts a day - responses that is, not discussions lol.
Most days I reach and even surpass that number, but the last few days I've been pretty weak and not even made it to 50 posts.
It's not that there aren't any good discussions to respond to, it's just that my attention wanders, and before I know it, I'm doing something different lol.
I'm determined this week to get back into the swing of things and try to make sure I at least reach my set number of posts for the day.

yes i do experience that as well. there was even one instance when i spent the whole day thinking of a good discussion to start. it isn't that easy, especially if the topic you thought about has already been posted by someone else. but what i do when i can't think of any is check whatever discussion i could join and respond to like this one. i also extend some "help" to those whose discussions have not received any responses. at least to make them know someone reads their posts and welcomes them to a healthy exchange of ideas.

i have seen from the previous responses that one can earn more than $50 a month. Im new here and im wondering how much time should you devote to and around how many responses should you post a day in order to reach that amount? Thanks

I have felt that way many times. And, I did what you did. I shut off the puter, and took a break. Buy the time you come back, there will be fresh posts again. Good luck, and have fun.

yes my interest in mylot does keep wavering all the time because of the topics... even if u look in the "today's hot topics" u sometimes end up getting boring discussions...

Not only are the discussions not worth responding too, they are often so badly written it's hard not to judge or correct the poster's grammar, or even spelling! I'm not some bull-headed American, but in a website that features English as the primary language, the discussions should be in coherent, fluent English.

I guess most things that you do each day are going to lose some of its appeal. Sometimes a bit of a break is all you need to feel refreshed and ready to post again. I am still enjoying this but I try to look at the different interests and also my friends posts. I want to try to earn a steady amount each day as well as bring in new referrals. I think if you want to make lots then I reckon you need referrals but I think it is still good money that yuo make from your own efforts.

I'm the same way... I was totally hooked on Yahoo Answers for a while, and then got tired of it, and every so often now my interest is piqued again. I just discovered MyLot days ago, but I'm sure I'll be the same way! LOL
