I do like homemade cake the best but the supermarkets are putting out better cakes these days. I love the icing/frosting that is whipped.. it isn't as sweet as the regular thich frosting. All this talk about cakes is making me hungary :) !!

I have one coming up too, when is yours? My favorites are german chocolate and red velvet cake. Although, I like just about any kind of cake...that is one of my downfalls!

Mine is on the 12th. Its my first one as a married "woman" and first one with my family far away (well apart from my husband of course). So i think its going to be a very interesting one. Ive never really made a big deal out of my birtday before simply cuz i dont like being the center of attention. But this year, i wouldnt mind a nice quiet day with my husband. We'll see how it goes! When is yours??

You'll like these. Try them! Here's the quickie Chocolate Mayonnaise Cake: INGREDIENTS: 1 - 18 ounce chocolate cake mix 3 eggs 1 cup water or milk 1/2 cup mayonnaise (Increase mayonnaise to 1 cup if cake mix has pudding mix in it.) PREPARATION: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.** Combine ingredients with a hand mixer on low. Continue beating on medium speed for 2 minutes. Pour batter into prepared pans. Bake for 30 - 35 minutes. Cool in pans on wire racks for 10 minutes. Remove from pans and cool completely before frosting. ** For 9 x 13 pan - bake for 35 - 40 minutes. Cool completely in pan. ** For Tube pan - bake for 40 - 45 minutes. Cool in pan for 20 minutes. Remove from pan. Ok! Now here's my mother's Made from scratch Chocolate Mayonnaise Cake: Makes: 1 deep 9 x 13 pan or 10 x 14 pan Ingredients: 4 cups (950 ml) flour 2 cups (475 ml) sugar 8 tbsp (125 ml) unsweetened cocoa 4 tsp (20 ml) baking soda 2 cups (475 ml) water 2 cups (475 ml) mayonaise (I use Miracle Whip) 2 tsp (10 ml) vanilla Preparation: Mix all dry ingredients together. Add water, mayonaise and vanilla. Mix on medium or medium high for about two minutes. Pour into greased and floured deep 9 x 13 inch cake pan. Bake 350 degrees (175 C.) F for about one hour or until toothpick inserted into center of cake comes out clean

I love Black Forest a lot but i have never made it myself and will never give a try on my own birthday, that is for sure. i know how good i am in baking cakes and all stuff, so i dont wanna spoil my special day. its better to buy it from the best confectionery or baker's shop . I can never do such a thing to me, spoiling my own day myself.

I would like an apple cherry pie please. I'm not a real big cake fan. BUT, if you want a delicious cake recipe, here's one that my husband craves... Turtle Cake 1 box Hershey's Fudge Choc. Cake Mix 14 oz. package carmels 1 stick butter 3/4 c. coconut 1/2 c. evaporated milk (NOT sweetened condenced!!!) 1 c. pecan pieces 3/4 c. chocolate chips Preare cake mix according to directions on box. Mix in coconut. Pour 1/2 batter in pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 min. Melt carmels, butter and milk in double broiler. Pour over baked cake. SPrinkle chips and nuts. Pour on rest of cake batter. Bake at 350 for 20 min. Serve with coolwhip or ice cream. My husbands other favorite is an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. The DQ's around here are always closed for the winter, so he doesn't get one in Jan. when his birthday is. Happy Birthday to you! I'm anxious to find out what you decided on for a cake. :)

i think that you should put Betty Crockers Cream Cheese Frosting on whatever cake you make. It's so good! Or make your own cream cheese frosting. But whatever your favorite cake is you should make! Sometimes it's hard to choose between chocolate or yellow cake but I always go with my tastebuds for that month. I would recommend betty crocker's website for ideas too. She helped me out on Valentine's day! http://www.bettycrocker.com/
