Simple Pleasures

Okay I know that everyone has to have some Simple Pleasures, you know something that seems not out of the ordinary but just makes you giddy and full of joy. Something that makes you giggle and and smile when you are doing it.
My sister and I just got Charlies Angels Season 3 on DVD and it is such a simple pleasure for us. I know it is just a tv show, but to us it is a path back to our childhood. We giggle throughout the entire thing. It is so much fun.
There are other things that are simple pleasures for me but this is the most recent.
So how about you? What are some simple pleasures for you.

Simple pleasures are overlooked and undervalued. I like your discussion.
I like the smell of sheets and towels right out of the dryer because they smell like fabric softener. Also, watching reruns of "Golden Girls" always brings a smile to my face. I never saw them first hand, but catching the reruns on Lifetime are a pleasure I enjoy.
Also, walking right before it gets dark when the weather is not cold nor hot, it so relaxing and makes me breathe in the atmosphere when normally I wouldn't even think about it.

I remember when they came out in the 80s; back then, it was a pleasure to see them, 227 on at the same night; that was good tv watching .

The simple pleasures for me is watching a beautiful sunset, especially over the ocean as it sets and disappears in the horizon as though the sea is swallowing it up.
I also love the smell of freshly mown grass.
Seeing robins in the garden.

Children's books. I love children's book so much that I could just jump with joy whenever I get my hands on one I haven't read before.
They give me a window into a world that I was never much a part of. I had a lot of responsibility as a child (looking after both myself and others) and I never remember being as much of a kid as I would have liked to have been. I never read children's books as a kid. By four years old I was reading on a college level and I thought I was too good for "kiddy books". But now I have learned to love them, and one thing I really cherish is reading them with my child. =)

I hear ya. reading books to and wiht my daughter is a wonderful thing. I am glad that you learned to love them because as adults it is sometimes nice to drift back and see things from a child's perspective and children's books are a great way to do that. Thanks for responding.

I love to read and I love to watch movies when I can and I am online a lot as well; to me, they are simple pleasures; taking a bubble bath is a simple pleasure. Shoot, I remembered watching Charlie's Angels as a kid too; those were the days.

Yes, taking a nice hot bath is wonderful and relaxing. Yea, we have already watched all of seasons 1 and 2 and we only now have 3 episodes left of season 3. In all of those there was only 1 episode that I didn't remember. Thanks for responding.

Simple pleasure for me is being around my grandchildren. I love them all and they are all so sweet to me. One of them is fond of writing and drawing and always has a surprise letter or card for me. I keep them all and I plan to make an album of all his cards and scribbles.

Oh you are so Right! I feel the same way when my daughter cleans without being asked. Sometimes she seems so grown up and I wish she could stay 8 forever, but no matter how many bricks I put on her head, she still keeps growing. Thanks for responding.

Chocolate is mine such a simple thing gives me so much pleasure. I bought some chocolate flavoured coffee yesterday it's nice but you can hardly taste the chocolate it's more like coffee. I also love the wide variety of chocolate biscuits available nowadays it gives something extra and goes well with a cup of tea.

For me,it would be hanging out with friends and having a great time.It could also be getting wet when it's pouring ,I love that.Even a good comedy movie does that to me.Over the past few days checking emails from Mylot and logging in to find my friends discussions or responses also is making me feel great. What I don't like is the alarm clock, lol.I wish a good biological clock could be developed that would wake us up without any kind of warning.

I have to agree that MyLot is a simple pleasure for me. My third grade teacher taught me to set my own biological clock. She said htat if I keep repeating "wake me up at (insert time here)" as I am falling asleep then I will wake up at that time. I am now 37, so we are talking many, many years past 3rd grade and I have been using this since then. I was amazed that it worked, but it does. It took a little time and practice but eventually my body got the picture and now it works great. Thanks for responding.
