country gurl, i have to admit they are awsome, i agree with you 100%. when i first heard the song wide open spaces, it meant a lot to me, it related to my life in many ways. i even told my dad to hear it because thats how i felt. at the time i was only 16.

Taking the Long Way Round is my favorite. The sisters started playing in an area Dallas when I used to go music clubbing - they were on the streets playing for change! How things can evolve!

About the Taking the Long Way Round album....they really had a hard time making their record back on the top....I found it out on their documentary in "Shut Up & Sing"...

I have a couple of favourites that I really don't believe I could separate.
Top of the World - I had virtually initially ignored this song completely. Then a couple of years ago at their 'Top of the World' tour they closed the show with the song, and between their performance and the clip they showed in the screen I felt like bursting into tears. It was a very odd moment that I've actually never really been able to explain.
Wide Open Spaces was the first song of theirs that I heard and actually liked. I suddenly found myself a fan, and enjoying songs I initially hated. Haven't looked back since.
Everybody Knows - I really really loved the first 1/2 of The Long Way Round album, and this was definetly one of the stand outs for me. Lyrically it seems to fit me quite a bit as well which is defnietly a reason I fall for some songs more than others.

I'd have to say my favorite song is "cowboy take me away" or "wide open spaces" by the Dixie Chicks. They have some beautiful vocals in that song, not that they don't in all their songs!

I love every single Dixie Chicks song, but my favorite would have to be Sin Wagon. It's just a lot of fun and really upbeat. I also like Let 'Er Rip, Truth No. 4 and Lubbock or Leave It.

My favourites are "Cowboy take me Away" - this song does however have a tendency to get stuck in my head. :)
The other one is "Goodbye Earl". A fitting end for all scum who abuse their wives.

My favorites are Long Time Gone and Let Him Fly-both of which are covers.
My favorite original is probably I believe in Love- I just love the harmonies on that one.

I love Not Ready to Make Nice and You Were Mine.
Not Ready to Make Nice talks about their battle after they stood up against the president. Its so powerful.
You Were Mine is such a lovely love song. Its so heart melting.

I love the song "Not ready to make nice" I like all theirs songs really. And all the controversy surrounding them doesnt really bother me I dont care what others think of them I still think they have incredible voices. The first time I heard that song it gave me goose bumps.
