what did everyone think of last night's performance? who do u think did the best? The worst? and who do u think will be sent home?
I think the girls ruled, to me most of the guys could have not even showed up. I think melinda was the best girl and chris the best guy. to me the worst was sanjaya I hope he goes home tonight....

I hope that Hayley goes home tonight. Watching her is like watching paint dry! At least Sanjaya I can laugh at...

I think Melinda's performance was simply outstanding! I liked her vocals, her stage presence and above all i think she is a good human being. all these qualities makes her a strong contestant. Even if she doen't make it she has definitely to go a long way. Apart from her, i think I liked sanjaya...just because he hails from the same country that i hail from. you never know he may create history like shilpa shetty did in big brother!

I think Sanjaya's performance wasn't that good but I think the people loves him so maybe he's not going home.
Melinda and Lakisha were great!!!

Melinda was the best. I think she will win the Idol crown. I think Brandon was the worst followed by Sanjaya. Yes I liked Chris for the guys. I don't think Hailey was as bad as everyone says. She has charisma and a pretty voice. Lakisha is good but her attitude may work against her down the line. She is very competitive which is good to some degree as long as she doesn't get too full of herself. Melinda though is a natural who goes into this zone when she sings. She gives me goose bumps

My sister had suggested that Sanjaya would stick around a little longer and then get eliminated, but I think he might go after last night's performance. He was SO BAD. Haley was bad too, but more sympathetic. I thought that Melinda was just amazing, as usual. I was touched by her reaction to the huge cheering crowd. I think that Chris Sligh might be the one to go tonight if not Sanjaya. His Endless Love was really odd. I did like what Blake did with You Keep Me Hanging On, and I think that Phil redeemed himself from last week's horrible performance. I think that a dark horse for elimination might be the cute black girl with short hair(her name is escaping me at the moment). She's good, but a little bit nondescript, which is what I think doomed Sabrina last week. I can't believe how hooked I have gotten - - I never even watched it until this season!

I thought most of last night's performances stank. I liked Lakeisha and Melinda, but that's it. I can't believe how off key many of them were. And, several forgot the words! That's a killer right there.

I do have to say that the men were disappointing last night. I am rooting for Chris Sligh in the competition as a whole but last night I think that Melinda Doolittle performed Diana Ross the most effectively and with the most paasion.
She will definatley be moving on in the competition.

All in all, I thought last night was a perfect example of the competition at it's finest this season... not in terms of the performances, but in terms of showing up about each and every single contestant.
For Brandon and Sanjaya, last night was a night to forget. Brandon seems to be stuck in 'backup singer' mode, where he's not performing the songs, he's almost looking to blend in with the people who are supposed to be singing backup for him. Sanjaya, meanwhile, his voice is too silky and smooth for the songs he is singing. He's not the best voice, but he's not utilizing the talent that he does have. He's singing songs that are too big for him and getting by on popularity and sympathy alone.
Chris Sligh, who I thought was going to be one of the better male contestants, stumbled a bit with his Coldplay-fused rendition of "Endless Love." Blake did a better job with him mix of "You Keep Me Hanging On." I personally loved the mix.
The awards of the night go to Melinda, Lakisha, and Jordin (big surprise there, huh?) Jordin really stepped up her game last night. She closed the show and did it with a resounding bang. ON a slow song like that, you have to be perfect... and she was. Watch out ladies, there's a new player in town.

There is no question the women are a lot better than the men and I'm predicting a man is going home. Sadly, several people didn't know all the words to songs I can easily sing and do in my living room. Melinda and Lakisha are just so great that both should get a record deal now. If they end up as final two, then that would be a great show and I would want a front seat. There were three men that I thought were bad enough that its a toss up for which one will go home. One can't sing, one forgot the words and the third ruined a song that I love to hear on the radio.

To me,this is the most disappointing season of Idol ever.
With the exception of Melinda Doolittle, who was fabulous and Chris,(not the Chris who butchered Endless Love)who shows a lot of potential and vocal ability and of course Lakisha who's just super talented, The rest of the contestants are mediocre at best. And why Sanjaya is in the top 12, is anybodys guess. I could watch better performnances at a high school talent show. Being sweet and nice does not make you an American Idol.As to who is going home tonight, with the exception of the 3, i mentioned earlier, it's a toss up between Sanjaya(please, let it be) Hayley and Brandon. And possibly Lisa. But it wouldn't disturb me in the least,if any of the remaining 5 were the ones leaving tonight.

Last night's performances weren't as good as I would have hoped, but I don't think many of them did too horrible. I think Brandon or Sanjaya are going to go home tonight, or if it's a woman it will probably be Haley. Chris Sligh in my opinion had the worst performance (followed by Brandon and Sanjaya), but I think Chris has enough fans that it won't matter.
The girls did awesome last night. Melinda, Jordan, and Lekisha were incredible. Jordan really surprised me last night, and I think she has so much talent. Like Simon said, I think this could be a race between not just Melinda and Lekisha, but Jordan as well.
I really liked Blake's performance even though the judges didn't. I have been rooting for Blake since the beginning, I think he's wonderful. It would be great to see him win, but I think the girls will beat him if it comes down to him, Melinda, Lekisha, and Jordan. (I still think Blake would get a record deal though!)

I have been very disappointed this season. One week the majority of the people will be horrible then the next they'll be a little better. Honestly, there are a small few who are good every week and we know aren't going anywhere. Everyone else should just be sent home now. They've had their chances to show us what they have, and truly, it's not that much. I am hoping every week that they'll just magically be good, but it never happens. Sanjay should be sent home, but won't because he's "too cute". It's a singing competition and he just doesn't have it right now. He is young and he can get there, but he is NOT there yet.
