And why do you think you are much closer to him or her?
I love them both but I think I love my mom more. I'm much much closer to her because she's the one who spent more time with us as we were growing up. It's her I was able to develop a better relationship with also.
How about you?

I am much closer to my mother, as in my childhood days i used to be very scared with my dad at times. As i used to run away from tutions and used to get lots beating from my dad for such an act, of course it was my fault. I loved both of them, but more closer to my mom. But my mom used to share with us all the love our dad had for the children as he never used to show his love for us... I started loving him more... after he passed away I felt the need for him in my life... I love both my parents a lot more than myself...

i'm sorry he passed away. i understand why guys missed their dads so much.
my boyfriend's dad passed away last year and there were times that he misses him more than ever. just like you there's a part of him that only his dad can fill in.
your eyes (or at least the ones in your avatar) remind me of my boyfriend. the same deep set. i was actually struck by the resemblance. pardon me for saying so...

When I was growing up, I would say that I was closer to my dad, as my mum was the person who chastised me the most, whereas my dad would just smile at some of the antics that I got up to. We also had the same taste, as he was a great musician and I wanted to be just like him. However, after I got married, I became closer to my mom, as she knew more about how to look after new babies etc. and I always went to her for advice.

i'm amused by the fact that over time, some people become closer to the other parent for some reasons.
we as kids never really liked being told what to do but when we grow up and already are in their shoes as parents ourselves, we seek advise on what we should do. :)

when i was a kid i was closer to my father because my father doesnt command me too much hehe.. unlike my mother she used to asked me a lot of things to do around the since im a girl and i should learn house chores but i was kinda lazy type of person before. but now that im big enough and understands how important these things in me i tried to work it out with my mom like asking how-to's in her.

yeah... when i was a kid, i used to hear parents telling their kids "you'll never understand until you get older or become a parent yourself". :)

if i have to do a comparison between them then it is going to be my mom for sure!:)reason i think is simple enough that it was my mom who was always around us when we were growing up as our father has a very time taking job! and also it's a natural child-mother relatonship between us. by the way in my whole family i m closest to my sisters!:)

i don't know why you had to live with your grandparents and not your parents when you were a kid. i hope they have a very good reason for it. and it's saddening that you were lonely when your grandparents passed away. it's good to note that you have found closeness with your mom. i do hope you will be happier now that you are living with your parents. goodluck! :)

this question is kinda funny because it reminds me when i was a little boy i was asked by my mod and dad who between the two of them i love more. i answered its my mom beacuse i was always a mama's boy. well i think this is so because i have a very loving mom. my dad was kinda strict and my mom was always patient.

My dad belongs to the arm forces and so he only spends a maximum of 15 days in a month with us. I'm much closer to my mom because she's the one who's always around. I have wonderful parents and I love them both.It doesn't matter anymore to whom I am much closer as long as they are good parents to me and to my siblings.

well, actually i feel im closer to my mom than my dad.....this does not have any particular reason as such but i feel that my mom has been giving me support since the beginning and im at ease when im speaking things to her. I feel more comfortable with her and just can't keep myself from expressing myself when she asks me something......My dad on the other hand is more rough and tough and does not get involved in such affairs........
