For those people who are working - do you love your job?

Like most people I go to work every day because I have to - not because I want to! I hate getting up at the crack of dawn, and struggling wth public transport just to spend my whole day away from home with people I may not particularly like, doing something I am truly not that keen on!
It's sad really - but we all have to earn money someway, and there aren't that many people I know who truly LOVE their job! So how about you? Do you enjoy your job, or is it just a way to earn money, and you can't wait to get home at the end of the day? Do you look forward to going into work? Does it fulfil you? Or is it just a means to a end?

It is unfortunate that so many people are stuck in jobs that they need in order to provide for themselves. Unfortunately this provision seems to go just from paycheck to paycheck with nothing being set aside. I work part time at home through different opportunities and keep an on call job. For me working outside the home is more of a means to an end.

Your wording reminds me of the movie "Shop Girl" Day after the day, the same old routine. That is how having a job you don't like, makes you feel. There is a scene, where Marigold is standing there at work, leaning on the counter. You can tell she is so bored, and feeling the mundane, day after day, routine. LOL

Well I may not be working at the moment but I would like to answer to this one anyways. Before my ex and I split up......I was working as a Herdtech on a Hogfarm and I loved my job.The only reason I'm not back to doing the exact same thing right now is.....that there are no farms nearby.I have always loved working with animals and it's something I'm good at.I'm currently looking into becoming a Wildlife Conservationist....now that would be my absolute dream job.I guess I'm really lucky that the thing I love doing can actually earn me a living.

The last job I worked for someone else was in 1997-1998 and it was a kitchen cabinet warehouse. I was a shipping/receiving clerk and also acted in the managers place when he was not there. I enjoyed the job however I did not like my boss--he was very much against women in his workplace at all. I became pregnant with my oldest daughter while there and he stated to me that 'he didn't have kids--thats why he had dogs' and he also told me that the last female who worked for him in his office, he had an affair with and she became pregnant with his son and not once did he ever see the child. After my oldest daughter was born, I opened a home day care business and loved working for myself. I only stopped because we moved to a different state and thought about opening one again however we do not live at an optimal place for that. Nice topic--I gave you a +

I wouldn't say that I love my job but I do like it. There has been a lot of office politics lately that has caused me to re-evaluate some things. For the most part, I'm on the road away from the office. So whenever things become a little too much I just get back on the road if I can. I think you have to do things to make the job work for you. If you hate it then ask yourself why? Once you determine why then do something to change it. If you can't just be patient and look for another job in the process.

Nobody can do a job unles they really love there job. What I think is one should't do the job which yu dont love. If doing the job only for money, there are so many options and there are so many things in the world from which you can earn money. First we have to ask ourselves what we like and what we love and then we should follow that. There is no point in doing something which we hate.

In principle you are correct, but in practice in cities like London, you cannot live without working, and jobs for women in their 40's are very hard to come by. So if you have one, you count yourself lucky to have a decent pay cheque at the end of the month, and put up with the rest of it!

My job is right here at home until I graduate college here in a couple of years. I love running traffic exchanges, it's never boring--except when it comes time to count the members' referrals or hunt a framebreaker, that is.

I see! What I feel about my job is that it is solely the way of earning my means and livings through it. But to make the overall as a good I try my level best to realise the importance of the job. Frankly, if this is the only mean of earning then why not I should not enjoy to prolong my interest in the assignment as well as to be well off. Though jobian are mostly hand to mouth (LoL) but this is the job what makes me a progressive as well as distictive member of the society. I enjoy rather to hate. Feels better!!

I really enjoy my work although I have had previous jobs that have purely been to pay the bills and for no other reason. Right now it's great to look forward to going to work, I personally like the structure to a day that working brings and don't know what I'd do if I didn't work in some form in the future. I think that job satisfaction is really important, but sometimes it's not that easy to choose what you want to do, as not everyone has that luxury.

I hate my job, but then I am working in a new field for me, and I don't think it's for me.
Also I work 12 hour shifts at night, which is really hard since I am a day person. It's just a paycheck for me until I can find a better job. I have been putting my resume out, so hopefully I will find something soon.

I love my job most days. The people I work with are great and so is what I do. But my customers can sure make a day go bad real quick. Even though I love my job, I look forward to lunch time and quittin' time EVERY DAY! And I will admit, if I didn't have to work, I wouldn't. I'd probably never leave my house again!

I think that we all work because we have to. I like my job most days, I like the people that I work with. I don't always like the kids that I work with. I work in alternative education. I find it very rewarding when the kids that I work with are able to graduate high school, because without the team that I work with, they never would be able to. If I can get through to just one of my students in a day, that can be very rewarding. My dream job is to have my own crafts business, which I do continue to putx in on a part time basis.

well, i do enjoy my job even though i don't really like it... as you say, we need to make a living and it is so hard to find a job nowadays... so i can't really be chossy... i just try to learn to love and enjoy my job rather than complaining about it... as times goes by, i grow to love my job more and more because i am given more responsibilities and i am waiting to progress my career there...

money is scarce from where i'm at so we really don't give that much thought about pursuing our dream jobs. we just settle for what's available and what pays us the most. most. it makes people frustrated coz basically you get through the day just beating the clock and rushing things and just wanting to get the day over with. so you end up not enjoying your day at all.
