I would probably take the one with the balcony!! I have a balcony and I love it!! It's my little get away place! It's so nice to sit out there in the evenings and just watch the traffic go by! If you like that sort of thing...Congrats on moving!

Oh it wasn't me moving, it was my daughter. She decided to go with the apartment that had the extra living space. Now if it was me, I would have gone with the apartment that had the balcony. I love sitting outside.

I would probably take the one with the living space as you aren't likely to be able to use the balcony that much as it isn't always the weather to be outside. If you want to go out I am sure there are plenty of other places you can go.

I would choose with a balcony. If you choose a balcony you can open the curtains making the illusion of a bigger space.Plus on those beatiful days you can open the sliding doors and get some fresh are.Not to mention you can start a garden out there.

I would definitely take the apartment without the balcony and more room. Those balconies are usually pretty small anyways. I would love the extra space inside considering it is only a one bedroom apartment.

Yeah that's how my daughter felt too. She would rather have more living space.

actually it depends for me. If I have a lot of things, I might take the one with more living space. If I don't have a lot of things, then the one with the balcony. I have a balcony right now, and haven't been able to use it in a long time thanks to the wonderful winter weather (hey alliteration..lol) I am lucky however, my current apartment is pretty large 1029 square feet and a balcony. I am hoping to purchase a home after we get back from vacation this summer.

That is a large apartment, you are very lucky. I'm not sure of the size of my daughters apartment, she is out of state. But I'm sure it's not 1029 sq. ft.
On my house I have a large front porch and I love to sit out there in the nice weather. It's very relaxing.

I think I would choose the more living space. Depending on where you live, you wouldn't be able to use the balcony all year around. So to me more living space would be more important than a balcony.

I am actually living in an apartment with a good-sized living space with no balcony (and no assigned parking and a parking shortage). I think it would depend on the size of the balcony. I've seen apartments with balconies only a few inches wide, so I wouldn't take that. I like balconies because it gives you a little outdoor space of your own.

I would definitely take the balcony! Especially if it is just a "little' more living space for the one without. My apartment has a balcony, and i love it. We use it to grill, It has a closet that we use for storage, and its a great place to sit and drink my coffee in the morning!

If I could grill on the balcony, it would be the balcony hands down.
But I think an extra space, a place to go sit out and enjoy the outdoors is nice.
I would go with the balcony....

I would take the one with the balcony, I would love being able to go outside and see what is going on...and not just out my front door =) The balcony would be much better than a little more living space =)

Hi daycarepal, well its nice to hear that your daughter is moving. Congrats to you as well as to her too. but my choice will not match hers as you have written she will be opting for the one with more living space.
i am a person who love to look out, , see what is going around you, see people moving down the lane, traffic moving, i love to see the liveliness of the nearby area. and i am a person who will decorate the balcony with all plants, hangings, and a nice arm chair, wher i can sit in the evenings , most of the time and can pass my time enjoying the people. dont need to move out everytime for the entertainment. i would to pass my most of the time sitting there, and doing half of the work there .

It would definitely depend on the climate where I was living. If it was a really nice climate, I wouldn't mind giving up a little bit of space so that I could have a balcony. If the weather was more likely to be bad and gloomy a lot of the year, I would rather have the extra space.
My fiance really wanted an apartment with a balcony, so that we could grill. We got a balcony, but the apartment complex doesn't allow us to grill on our balcony, because the railing is made of wood. Thus, it's a fire hazard. :(

I would go for an apartment with a balcony. When I am living alone over there, its better to have balcony so that I can see the views outside. I can fressh air from the balcony. I can also plan to have some flowers in the balcony that will give freshness and lively environment. So, I would go for a balcony.

Living in apartments my whole life I would ahve taken the one with the balcony. You can sit outside on a nice evening, you can do a little bbq too, if a guest who smokes stops by they can go outside rather than downstairs, you can get a little suntan too on your balcony, I would chosen the balcony for sure. Sorry to say but I think she is going to regret it later. I am surprised they are the same price because generally apartments with a balcony cost so much more. Good luck in her new place!

Yeah they are the same price but the one with the balcony has smaller living space. I suppose later on she could try to switch apartments if she wanted. But for now she likes the extra space.

I would take the one without the balcony. I'm big on wanting as much living space as I can possibly have, you know? Go for the one without the balcony. After all, you won't use a balcony much.
