No way !!! I've heard too many rotten things about Vista!
I use Win XP for games and a couple other programs and my portable apps
but for most of my needs Linux Mint works very well indeed!
I encourage people to try something different.MS is not the end all and be all of operating systems!

Well, I am using Vista for some time now. I like it very much. It is more proficient than the former versions. And for the softwares you can't get in tune to your newer version of Windows, I can only say that all softwares that need plugins to be installed in your newer browsers or windows need to be upgraded. It will take some time for all of them to upgrade and be in tune to Vista's compatibility level. It happens almost every time Windows gets updated.

Woow WIndows Vista.. what a hot subject i can say. I have talked a lot in my area with many of my friends and all of them had only positive thoughts about it. I can say that i was blow off by this new windows system. Some things certainly lack to it but this new look which Microsoft has incorporated in it certainly do the money you would give for it. I have waited this new system for 2 weeks and here i am using it. It was pretty hard for me to buy it because in my area it can't be found. So i had to ask a friend from another part of my country to order me. I am so happy using it and all i have are only words of gratitdue. I post here a short description about VISTA.
Windows Vista contains hundreds of new features; some of the most significant include an updated graphical user interface (GUI) and visual style dubbed Windows Aero, improved searching features, new multimedia creation tools such as Windows DVD Maker, and completely redesigned networking, audio, print, and display sub-systems. Vista also aims to increase the level of communication between machines on a home network using peer-to-peer technology, making it easier to share files and digital media between computers and devices. For developers, Vista includes version 3.0 of the .NET Framework out of the box. The .Net Framework makes it significantly easier for developers to write high-quality applications than with the traditional Windows API.

I absolutely DESPISE it!
I'm computer systems administrator for the company I work for. The IT manager insisted that I get everyone a new machine with Vista. I did...everyone but me. I will not give up my XP (and I'd really rather go back to 2000). Vista is the worst piece of crud to come out of Seattle since ME. Half the applications wont run on it (I still have DOS games that run on XP).

I never knew it was that bad. I too had that problem with systems could really wrap myself around the idea of firefox all that much half of it programs stole my passwords which sucked for me. I still don't know why. Don't get me wrong it's still a good browser and all but, it didn't work for me.. i switched back to what I had before.. and had been happy each and everyday since.

Im not a big windows fan to begin with, i just went to xp a year or so ago. always wait 3 or 4 years before getting the next one because it takes that long to update it to a tolerable, usable windows. I dont think I'l be trying vista untill software companies corner me into it by producing versions of software that only run under vista.
Personaly im a mac and linux fan but i do some things that are only available to windows, so until software companies stop smooching Mr. Gates' butt, i still need to have it i guess
