Wow! I've read of this and now it's happened to me!

I had a star rating of 98/100 this morning! I thought I would just check in and see how things are doing and I've dropped to 94/100!! I have lost my 10 star and dropped to a 9!
Until now I have just steadily increased from a 7 star when I got my first rating.
How did I lose 4 points in less than 4 hours???
I didn't think it would actually bother me if this happened as I have read lots of threads saying the exact same thing. But it has actually upset me.
I always rate people positive due to the fact that they have taken time out to respond or make discussions. Just because I disagree doesn't make them worthy of a minus rating. I think in the month that I have been here I have only used it once. That was to a rude, offensive post that seriously broke mylots rules.
I am sorry to moan on about this. But I have worked really hard and was actually quite proud that I had done so well.

It seems that we follow the same pattern since we joined mylot!
I also started with 7 and moved up to 10 one step at the time and now it dropped to 9.. I wasn't surprised as i read much about it and expected it would happen sooner or later, actually i think maybe because i'm trying to make the payout this month and posting more responses and typing faster maybe some people don't like what i write if they find errors in it? Anyway I guess we both can get our blue 10 star back, if we were good enough to have it once people will put us back up there again, fluctuations just have to happen sometimes.

I'm wondering if it was something to do with the new improvements. Alot of people seem to have had their rating dropped today!

no i haven't reached payout yet, but i think i have enough time for it, it seems that my earnings rate has improved and this will help. thank you :)

I have heard about this also I am not sure how it can happen actually. It has yet not happened to me - but i am sure that it will sooner or later and I will also be upset probably *hehe*

I wouldn't worry about it. I can't see how it affects your earnings.
Who knows how or why you got the lower rating.
Some people out there just have to be negative.
I almost never rate any - either.

I have suffered , you are lucky that your ranking dropped in some four hours . I posted a discussion and had few comments on a rude response and suddenly within 15 minutes my ranking was on 7 from 9 and I was shocked. My earning dropped dramatically and I wasn't interested in writing a lot on mylot. I reported this to mylot and I think I'm catching on few can you send me a private message and share where you have seen your ranking like 98 out of 100 .

i barely even kno wether i have a star , and how do i check my star ratings ??????///// im actually new to this , , and hope to learn more , , ,wel i thought it was on the number of friends u had , , , coz most of the ones having 5000 and above get the 7 to 9 stars , , i dont kno if m right , this is from my observation ......i think even im goin to giv every 1 a positive in their ans and gain more stars if thats the case

You get a star rating when you get to 100 posts. Then to see whatyour rating is out of 100 justhold the cursor ove it!

i know how you feel... i also experience losing some points before and the only reason i can think of is because mylot deleted the discussions that i had responded to and that is the reason why my rating and earning drops... but i just try to have fun here... so, i don't really want to think so much about it... i'm sure your rating will increase again and you will get back your 10 star... good luck...

I used to have a 10 as well, then I didn't come in here for about a month and now I have a 9. So some of my older posts must have gotten negative ratings I guess.
I was a little disappointed at first too, but I'm sure I can get it back up there, and I'm sure you can too! Good luck :)

Exactly the same thing happened to me. On the day I was given a ten star I thanked everybody as I was so happy and then my star went down to a nine, on the same day!! I was told there are jealous people on here who just rate people negatively for no apparent reason so I guess that's what happened to you as well. Plus you're right in that although you don't think it will upset you it really does get to you because you have no idea why it happened or whose got it in for you.
I think that it would be better if when people rate someone negatively they should also have to give a reason why and that their identities are shown instead of being able to do it invisibly!! If they've really got something to say then they shouldn't be bothered about everyone knowing who they are.

Yes I agree. Even if it isn't public it should go straight to mylot. Or even do away with the minus all together.

The same thing has happened to me recently and I understand why it's frustrating. Honestly I'm not sure why it changes like this and thought that maybe it was because I didn't post anything on some days or wasn't very active. Anyway, go ahead and whine all you want...I'll join you!

I owuldn't worry about it too much and can I tell you why I suspect it may have happened.
Alot of people on here don't actually go for the whole myLot thing and are just trying to mess with the heads of people who take it seriously.
Remember that post you done regarding -ve and +ve. Chances are some mupperts while reading it have given you -ve. Probably just to prove to themselves they have some control.
EMail myLot and say you want it looked into. Someone else done that before and it changed bacl to what is was.

Thanks I think I will do that. Since doing that post I have found that my rating is slowly dropping everyday. Soon I will have lost my 9 star!
But it doesn't make sense as my earnings are increasing daily.

Perhaps it was due to the upgrade phase of mylot that you have lost your reputation points,maybe you'll get them back as soon as its backs to its normal.You have still 9 stars and this is quite good to make yourself proud about the quality of your posts ,look at me i am still searching for my 1 star status,without a clue how to reach that landmark,still now that i am posting this the site is down and telling me to wait to complete the post,so dont worry you'll get back your lost points as soon as it comes to its normal status.

i think you can overcome that decrease of your earnings since you've said that you work really hard here and feel sorry about what you've done that brokes the rules and regulation of mylot.Be good in responding to the discussion here.

I've heard of this happening before and I had it happen once.
I had a star with a 9 in it and was happy with that, then for some reason it dropped to an 8 and I couldn't figure out why. heck, I'd only been posting for a few days lol.
Then a couple of days later it went back up to 9 and then 10 and it's been there ever since. I know my rating has dropped by a point but I can in all honesty say I do not care lol.
I'm on mylot to make friends and have fun. All this with Ratings tends to confuse me because so many people place such great emphasis on it. Of course, I'm not saying you are, I just mean I don't see what the big deal with ratings are.

Well my rating has dropped again to 93/100! LOL I hope I don't lose my 9 star as well!!!
