Depends on the breed of cat, there are some cat breeds that love showers. Bengals and Toygers love the water and russian blues too. I know there are more because these cats have been bred with temperment and beauty in mind. But good luck on the house cat, it is hard for non pedigree cats to ignore the instinct not to be close to water or being wet.

I tried to give my cat a bath every week but the weather is always the problem. I will make sure that it is hot outside before giving my cat her bath. I do not want her to feel the cold after the bath. I heard it is not good for the cat.

i wash them if they've really gotten dirty,
or to cool them off if it's unbearably hot.
i would only wash them more frequently if we had an allergic person in the house.

My cats don't get a bath because I would be scratched all over if that were to happen (believe me, I've tried it before) but they are clean animals and give themselves their own bath by licking. And I also powder brush them once a week.

Hi Ackars!
Actually I dont bathe my cats. They take a bath by themselves, by licking their fur. One time a bathe my favorite cat she scratched me with his paw. Thats why I dont like bathing my cat. Actually I have thirteen cats.:)

I've never bathed our cats. We do towel them off if they come in from eth rain all wet and muddy, but as yet I havent ever met a cat that lieks water enough to sit still whlst being washed. I do hear of others that will though, so I know it isnt impossible, just none of mine would stand for it for one second.
