The thrill of mylot is gone?

Not really but since I qualified for last month payment I'm not posting here as much as before. I joined mid-March and tried hard to reach payout level, once I did; it's kind of no big motivation anymore. Since many members are talking about higher earnings than before, I will try to be more active again, but if I will reach $10 early in the month will I lose the motivation again? I still post a lot and respond to my friends discussions but money doesn't seem important anymore.. Any one experiencing this? running out of steam once you secure payout level for the month?

I feel the same way too after first payout.. which i find very hard to understand.. normally money always works for motivation, but with mylot, I found my "steam" gone. I guess it's also because there so many other ways to earn money online as well... But like you, I still post and respond to my friend's discussion and contribute what I can.. Cheers!

I feel the same way too, I can't even find any interesting topics anymore. I've been experiencing this lately, that most of the people here do not post quality discussions anymore, or maybe I'm just seeing this only by myself. I would understand other's, that most members are either on vacation, or just observing the season of lent. I expect this happening up until this week only, but if it does not turn up good, then I don't know if I'll stay that active anymore. I may become a seasonal member then..

It's hard to think of mylot as a job and do X number of posts daily, I did that while trying to reach payout first month but just can't keep it up.. if I don't find things to "thrill me" now I can't be as active as I was, I will try to test the raise of earnings level that members talking about, if I can make $1 + daily it would be a good motivation but I can't have a fixed number of posts daily.. I will try to post just as much as I can.

You should set a new goal now. Strive to get a check every month! Then you want a bigger check each month thereafter. Keep setting goals and raising the bar a little higher every month. You have to make it fun for yourself and be your own competition.

I think that is one of the reasons I also have now for myself. But we also need to keep on responding to topics of our choices, to remain an active member somehow... I somebody reading this and would also want to check this topic: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/869956.aspx ...it might be of help to increase our earnings, when is being implemented.

I can't say that I don't have motivation when it comes to mylot. The earnings for me are secondary, I love the discussions and the members that I post to regularly. I see the earnings as a bonus. I'm not as active as I was when I first joined but that has been due to the wonderful Spring weather we had last month and after being cooped up for so long it's been nice to get out and enjoy the warmth and sun. My first month that I was here my earnings were nearly $40 this past month just under $25. I'm hoping that this month if I stick to my goals to earn close to $50. We will see what happens. All the money is going towards a lap top computer at the end of the year. So every little bit helps. I think that the best advise that I can give is to enjoy the discussions and friends and. I'm always afraid that I'm going to miss something when I'm not here. I enjoy reading a lot of the discussions but don't always post a response as I can't add anything new to the discussion. Just have fun! :)

Good for you :) as for me I always need a motivation to keep doing anything, I can't see myself making $20 a month if I will not think about the money.. I will end up with 5 to 10 posts a day.. anyway it's good to enjoy ourselves and also spend time out. I have no goals to this month yet and can't say what I'm expecting, but I will try to reach $10 soon as possible and see how far it can go.

Hello wildhorse!(",) I'm feeling the same thing though I haven't received my first payment yet. I will be receiving it by this month and it seems that it doesn't thrill me at all anymore. At first, I'm really into posting discussions and replying but now there are less quality posts anymore. Maybe we are feeling this way because of the familiarity already. Why don't you try uploading photos in that way you can still earn. Whatever happens, I will still love mylot because I did had a great time here and I enjoyed alot sharing my thoughts and ideas.(",)

I go through phases with myLot - sometimes I'm much more enthusiastic about it than others. Most months I don't make payout anyway and it doesn't really bother me that much because the money is not really a big issue for me. I keep saying I'm going to make a huge effort one month just to see if I can a payout similar to the ones I hear others going on about ($50 or more) because I'm fairly sceptical about these claims and want to see if it's really possible! So far I've never really tried though. If I'm close to $10 near the end of the month I'll have a little burst of myLot activity to see if I can scrape through but after that I usually get bored and drift off again for a little while.

yes I get the same feeling about many things, coming and going whenever i like, i hate to think of it as a "job" or a "business". I think people can make $50 or more if they have referrals or if they have all day to type in mylot, some people have the time and can do that but i would not try it.

This happens often enough - and this payout over thingy is only one of the possible triggers. People get unmotivated for a variety of reasons. Let's see... maybe they are out of discussion topics to post? Maybe they are not getting responses for their discussions? Maybe they are getting less discussions? Maybe they quarreled with a myLotter? Maybe they hate the myLot admin? Maybe they are just sick and tired of doing the "same" thing? Maybe they are disillusioned by the low earnings? Well, many maybes as you can see and I have but highlighted but several.

Thank you for the good analysis of the loss of motivation problem :) I'm sure I will find a way to get motivated again :)
5 Apr 07
I too have found my motivation slipping. I think it is a combination of the glitches from the upgrades and the wondering whether payment really will appear in my paypal account! I'm sure once we see first hand that mylot really does pay it will boost our motivation to earn as much as possible! Good luck!

Hi! I can say with all honesty that my motivation level is still at 10. :) It goes down a notch everytime I look at my posts and still see the same number. Not that I'd expect everyone to want to drop a few lines but since I am literaly new here..(sigh) I wish. The money, little though it is, always seems to help me whenever I find myself flagging in motivation. Well I hope though that as time goes on I would still be motivated. I think if I do lose the thrill, I'll have to step back for a while. Refresh my eyes and brain. Then start looking at things from a different angle all together. Maybe make a research about things here in myLot. I dont know for now but the possibilities are endless I'm sure. I just have to to get to the end lol. Thanks for the post. Have a nice day.

you still have under 100 posts, you should respond much more than that to make some money here, don't start many discussions yet, just respond as much as you can daily and try to always make it at least 3 or 4 lines to get better earnings. good luck :)

That's a very sound advice. I will do as you say. Thank you very much. I'll pray something thrilling comes your way soon. Keep posting so I can keep responding ;)

what i can see here is most people are telling about their payments.the question i would like to ask everybody here is how on earth you are able to make so much money??? some people are claiming payments of arround 50$.how is this achieved?i really need to know. how much do we get for each response or a comment or by starting a new discussion or by getting a response in our discussion?

Don't let this frustrate you, $50 or more must have some active referrals helping, anyone can make $30 a month with some efforts, 40 good posts daily can make you $1 or more, you just need to have the time for it and the motivation. I have the time but I ran out of motivation after reaching payout for my first month.. you still have very low posts count, if you want to make money here you should respond much more than this or try to get some active referrals. good luck :)

I'm not really an expert but what i learned so far is that you need to make many responses and always at least 3 or 4 lines, more is better; so choose subjects of discussions that you can write about not silly ones that can be answered in 3 or 4 words.. I still don't have referrals either and managed to reach first payout in two weeks, it's very possible if you have the time, respond to as many discussions as you can and go for discussions from your interests or friends. We get paid for each response we make, also for every discussions we start if at least it get one response, many responses and comments on our discussions is credited somehow but mylot is not clear about this.

The main thing required in achieving good payouts is having good referals but i am not good at at all.If i just want to make money by posting on discussions then what is the best way to do it since i am credited very low for a response. What should a good response be like in order to maximize its value and quality? Also can you tell me whether we receive credit if someone posts at our discssions that are discussions which we started?

If that is the case why don't you set your minimum pay out more higher maybe 25usd in that way you will get a longer motivation and keep your hands on key. Me I get more motivated once I reach the minimum pay out. Most of the time interesting discussion makes me motivated here. I hope most users wont run out of this kind of topic.

Sitting a higher payout level will not work for me, i will know that i can change it back to $10 if I couldn't make it in time LOL thanks for the idea never the less :)

Well I won't say that thrill has gone but one thing i have noted is that the incoming of new discussions which normally start in a day has drastically been gone down to half to it's previous number. Mat be people users are on summer vacation or so. All the best from oarnamav.

Dear wildhorse, after running forword for such a long distance of 763 marks you have come to a plateau of progression with the feeling of no motivation and no improvement, but there are still a long journey for you to go ahead to reach your goal of success and the 1000 marks is nearby. Please don't think of the amount of money you can make from mylot because this will depress you for mylot is not the right place to earn good money. Wish you good luck and happy mylotting.
