lol You are going to make me look bad :-P I posted this once before and can't even lie about it ,Lol!My first dish was an egg curry.I had come prepared all the ingredients and with atleast 3 recipe manuals. While I was cooking the curry ,it smelled divine and to make it look colorful I added turmeric to the curry. To give it an exotic look,I added a lot of tomato paste to it.I was not experimenting too much and just following the manual except for the beautification. When I was done, the curry had the fragrance of a perfume and the looks of a luscious island. So,I was very surprised when one of my friends left to keep an appointment and the other friends cursed the cook .I was very sure they were overreacting .To put them at ease I tasted the curry. It tasted like water with a lot of chilli and tomato paste. My next reaction was to join them in cursing the cook.
(Sorry for the late post-was little busy)

I dom't exactly recall what dish or how old I was when I first learned to cook. I've always cooked pasta dishes since that's what my brothers and I love. I'm not much into barbecues or hard to cook dishes. I did learn to bake when I was eighteen, I think. And the first cake I baked was a banana cake. And it did look and tasted like a banana cake. lol

My first dish was eggs and bacon at the age of 11. I was dropped off at my grandma's house early in the morning one Saturday to spend time with her. She was not feeling good so I told her I would serve her breakfast in bed. I made her eggs , bacon and toast. She loved it. She liked it so much that for the next 3 years, I cooked her breakfast in bed every Saturday until she past away. I wish I would have started earlier on it. It is definetly something I miss even today at the age of 29!

The very first thing my mom taught me was how to cook (or boil) rice. When I was little, there were no automatic rice cookers yet. I have also learned how to fry and boil an egg on my own, at the age of 10. There was no other cooking involved in my life (hehe) until I got here to the U.S. last year. I then had to learn how to cook for myself because the cost of dining out is so expensive, and the food could be very boring and not so healthy, either. The very first meal that I have learned how to cook then was sauteed chicken. It was so good, my sister said. From then on, I would cook every now and then. Happy myLotting!

The first dish I cooked was a scrambled egg. I could still remember the very first time I did it. I was just 10 years of age when my mother let me fry the scrambled egg she prepared. At first, I'm afraid to do so. But when I already spread the scrambled egg over the hot oil, I realized that it will not make any hurt on me. But one thing happened with that experience... As I enjoy turning it upside-down, I didn't noticed that it's getting burned. So, my mother took over for we might not get any of it.

Probably spaghetti, or a salad or something. I don't remember. I was 15 or 16. Maybe it was a tuna fish sandwich? Or maybe it was pasta salad or potato salad. I really don't remember!!

I remember I cooked pinto beans and flour tortillas at 12 years of age. My mom got sick and she never taught me how to cook, I stayed alert for about two hours watching the beans getting cooked and my father helped me make the dough.
