So I am about 15 weeks pregnant, and recently I started having terrible morning sickness, or really all day sickness. Where I would barf like 10 times a day. And I didnt during the first trimester. SO My question is, I went and read about morning sickness and vomiting and I saw that it could be a sign of a miscarriage. I had my last ob appt just a few days ago and heart the heartbeat with no problems. But now I am scared. Could this be a miscarriage? Would there be other signs? I've never had morning sickness in any of my other pregnancies (i have 4 kids). Thanks!

Did you mention it to your doctor last visit or was it not happening then? If it just started maybe give a call into his office or the maternity wing of your hospital. When I was having problems in my pregnancy, that is what I was told to do. And if they think that something is wrong they'll make you come in for some evalutations and monitoring and if not no harm done. Maybe you ar having a girl if this pregnancy is totally different than the other four! That is usually how it goes I think. Good lucka nd let us know how things are going. Congrats on the forth coming baby too!

Actually from what I have read and heard was that morning sickness was actually a good sign that you would less likely miscarry. I haven't heard that it is a bad sign.

I had terrible morning sickness that did eventually wear off in the second trimester. I don't think it's a sign of miscarriage.
I had a miscarriage before I had my last child and the usual signs are spotting or bleeding and that feeling of "not being pregnant."
If you're concerned, call up your midwife and talk to her. She will be able to tell whether the sickness is exessive or not, and will be able to help you.
I actually found that Ginger Biscuits helped me to stop throwing up, and so maybe you could try that.
Good luck and congratulations on your upcoming baby's birth :o)

I had that morning sicknes thingy for all my pregancies. My last one I would carry a bucket around with me. I lost weight instead for gaining. Talk to your doctor, there are Rx for that. Let me know how you are doing. I have 4 cute boys too. But they are all over 30! LOL

My wife just got pregnant and all the sudden everyone is an expert. I can tell you my wife did the same thing between weeks 13-20 and as far as we know everything is good. Just dont let so called "experts" scare you into believing something is wrong.Good luck to you!!!

I'm not a doctor so I can't say for sure that it's not a miscarriage but I had morning (really all day) sickness with my twins. My first pregnancy was the perfect pregnancy with the exception of spotting in the first trimester. With the twins I was barfing nonstop. I actually lost weight as I was pregnant but that was a combination of the barfing and the eating better so it wasn't an issue as they kept a close look on the babies.
It's not always something that happens in the first trimester but it's more common then. And it's not unusual to have a different pregnancy style, especially if you have 4 boys and this one is a girl!!! You never know.
Just keep your doctor appointments and don't be afraid to ask him anything and everything. No question is stupid, especially if you are worrying about something. Stress can cause major problems with pregnancies and it's just not worth the stress to hold questions back.
Good luck!

I've heard that every pregnancy is different, so you can't really compare them all. Are you staying hydrated? That's what will help you out a lot, my sister got dehydrated and went into premature labor, which thankfully they were able to stop. I'm no expert, but I've been told that once you see the heartbeat and get into the second trimester, the chances of miscarriage are pretty low. I had an early miscarriage and the signs were dizziness and loss of a lot of blood.

The only signs I know of for a miscarriage is spotting or bleeding. I had a miscarriage in my first trimester with my third pregnancy :( and had the signs I mentioned. I didn't go to the ER for my husband told me it was 'normal' as his mom apparently had some bleeding in her first trimester with all three of her kids even though I never had it happen with my other two pregnanies (yes, also my husband's kids). Try not to worry too much and if you have concerns talk to your doctor. Good luck!

I didn't have any morning sickness at all - which i was a little concerned about :) I think i was just lucky but it also made me worry since i'd always heard that get a bit of morning sickness is a GOOD thing.
If you're worried, chat with your OB GYN & see hat he/she has to say about it but chances are it's nothing - some babies might just mess your bodies around more than others do!

I just make sure you let your doctor know, but it doesn't really sound abnormal.

Ok first, breathe... Have you told your OB about this? I'm not an expert on pregnancy but I know that every pregnancy differs from the other. Just be alert and look out for signs that can lead to miscarriage like tummy pain and worse blood. Take Care.

If you were miscarrying you'd have more than morning sickness to deal with! There would be blood and cramping and you'd be delivering a tiny fetus. If you are experiencing either of these, call the doctor right away. Otherwise you might want to call the doctor to ask about medication for the nausea if it is really bothering you.
My first pregnancy I was nauseous for the first TWO trimesters. It was awful. I couldn't get my head above the pillow without being sick. Then by the last trimester I was so huge - my baby was born weighing 9 pounds 11 ounces - that any time I bent over I passed out because it cut off the blood to my brain. What fun! Is it any wonder that I was anxious to be pregnant again any time soon?

my daughter did this with her second child...it had a name thay escapes me right now....she was put on bed rest...but she did carry full term...now she is 20 weeks along with number 3...this time she has been using drammine for the morning sickness and sips gator-aide all day and that has helped alot...i think you would have more symptoms than just throwing up,but making an appointment to calm your fears could be a great rlief for you....

The reason why you may be having more morning sickness with this pregnancy than the others is that you may be carrying a girl. Girls tend to create more morning sickness for woman because they are actually developing their own hormonal system which, in conjunction with your own fluxuating hormones, may be creating a more severe case of morning sickness. I've never read that morning sickness is a sign of a miscarriage. On the contrary, I've heard that lack of morning sickness could mean the very same thing. However, check with your doctor just to be sure. Hopefully, this stage of your pregnancy will pass soon and you'll be able to keep some food down.

You sound like me when I was pregnant. I didnt get sick until I was 13 weeks pregnant, and I think it stopped around 22 weeks. I would watch Martha Stewart on the television and run to the bathroom and puke-- that says a lot about what I think about her. As for being worried, you shouldnt be, every pregnancy is different. I had a little girl, maybe you'll have one too!
