Calculator or Calculating using your mind?

When you need to add something up or whatever you want to do with numbers do you use the calculator or try calculating all by yourself? If possible I really use my brain instead because there's an advantage if you do this, you can easily answer mathematical problems without any calculator! Simple addition, multiplication, subtraction and division are easy to do actually.
So how do you solve the mathematical problems in your life?

I just add, divide, subtract and multiply with my mind because I don't always have a calculator. It's nice when you solve problems mentally!

I always try to use my brain to work them out at first, but i know that my brain does have an extent to how much it can work out. Thats when i whip out the calculator or i open the calculator program and the computer.
If its just simple things like addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, i can usually work it all out in my head. its when stuff like pi and square routes etc. get thrown in to the equation (excuse the pun) that i really need to use the calculator.

In my course, I frequently encounter complex math problems which cant be solved mentally, so I oftenly use a calculator. Honestly, I believe I am already dependent with the calculators because even with simple operations, I try to always check with the calculator.

I use to calculate using my mind on casual instances like when i'm in a grocery or when i pay the taxi or bus. Or other things that happen everyday. But i always use the calcualtor everyday in school! I'm a major in chemistry. I most of my subjects involves calculations that can't be calculated by the mind. Like the sines and cosines value in trigonometry and other stuffs like that.

I'm used to it, doing calculation using my own head unless it compose of too many digits then that's the only time I need to consult the calculator for much accurate result.
When I was working in a rice field in the province where its not practical to carry calculator since the place is not that neat friendly, we do calculating our share in harvest using basing system of manual computing. It only requires simple mathematical process of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division so calculator is not that necessary to use.

I'm really not good with numbers, I've proven it many times already since I started going to school, even failed a math subject when I was in college. I know that solving numbers without calculator helps exercise our brains, but in my case it will be time consuming. I prefer to work with a calculator around.

I mostly solve math, mentally. However, there are a few occasions when I'm dealing with decimals and I need the precise answer to the third decimal place, I use the calculator. And mostly, calculators are banned in exams, here.
