Is it crazy to be addicted to Ebay???

I have always loved bidding on and buying things from Ebay. I have won and purchased soooo many things from that site! Recently I started selling some items, and I am becomming almost obsessed with checking to see if anyone has bid on or is watching my merchandise. It's the first thing that I check when I wake up , and it's the last thing I check before I go to bed. It's not even about the money for me...it's more about the excitement of the auction. Does anyone else have a similar addiction to Ebay?

Wow...that's unfortunate that you've had such a bad experience with Ebay. I can honestly say that so far for me, everything has gone very smoothly. Thanks for responding!

LOL! I used to. I have banned myself from the site now. I totally missed the whole year one year, and now I've missed the past 5 months because of mylot, lol. Just kidding. I used to be on here 24/7 but now I realize that my children need fed...ha ha. My cousin is addicted though and has been for years, her old man wants to just wring her neck sometimes! And she buys stuff that she will NEVER use, lol.

Thankfully, I don't buy things that I don't need, or will never use. That would drive my husband crazy too! Thanks for your response!

LOL I don't hink is it so bad. I really like Ebay too, although I have not bought too many things from there, and I have never sold anything. I am all ready shopping for my kids birthdays (one is in August, and one is in October) and also looking ahead for Christmas! Because you sell things on Ebay, I am curious to know how much things cost to post-and to finalize a sale. I have read others threads hre on Mylot, and they say that it is pretty costly, and in result, people sell with alow bid price, but jack up the shipping price in order to make money because Ebay costs so much to sell things anymore. What is your opinion and views?

I am totally addicted and have been for years to eBay, in fact I have had a husband once that forbid me to shop on eBay cause that is all I do. Nowdays, it is my life, I am a Seller but I am just as much as Buyer also, right now I have 35 watched items and I just purchased 25 items over the past month. I love it. Yes, it is the first thing I check and the last thing I check everyday ... ever set your alarm clock to go off in the middle of the night so you can win an auction?? I have ...

LOL....No, I guess you are definitely more addicted then I am! I love to buy as much as I love to sell on ebay. You can literally find ANYTHING you are looking for, and sometimes you find something that is impossible to resist buying even if you weren't looking for it. It is like a mall, yard sale, flea market, specialty shop, etc. all rolled into one. I love it. Thanks for your your response!

I am selling on ebay from 2004. I really like all the things on ebay. I really love the buyers worldwide because what I have seen it buyers from India usually don't pay but international buyers are quite serious about their purchase. They really appreciate our work and love our products -- not like Indians -- they hardly care about leaving feedback. A feedback means a lot to sellers. What do u say ?

So far, I haven't had any experience with International buyers...everyone who has purchased my items have been from my own country, USA. I hope I never encounter any problems like that! Thank you for your response!

Yeah, you can really find ANYTHING you need on ebay...and most of the time, you can buy it a lot cheaper then you would in a store. Thanks for your response!

I have to admit, I do kind of have an addiction to ebay. I have bought three thirty dollars items in the past week. I first bought a wireless mouse. Then I bought some adult clothing. And then today, I just bought a movie about paganism. I buy things all the time. I am quite a shopper.

It's hard not to buy stuff from Ebay when you can get such a good deal! I really was never a big shopper until Ebay came along...Thanks for your response!

I don't think it's crazy, unhealthy maybe. Someone I knew buys rubbish from ebay, literally rubbish because they won't ever use them etc. Just an addition to winning bids, similar to gambling. I think those who buy actual thing's they need are fine though, it just depends. ~Joey

I agree that buying things that you will never use is unhealthy. I really don't do that though...I usually buy clothing or educational books for my kids, since I homeschool them. Thanks for your comment!

I dont think its crazy at all. I at least get on ebay to either look or bid 3 or 4 times a day, I actually have a room for stuff that I get off of ebay.

Wow...if I had an entire room to dedicate just to ebay merchandise, I would be in a lot of trouble...lol! My husband would probably end up taking away my checkbook and credit cards! Thanks for your response!

I'm the same way. I just bought 3 things off of it and when I do sell I'm the same way I'll check it as much as I can. I can spend hours on ebay and hubby gets upset with me sometimes but I think I can get good deals off of ebay. Happy bidding

My husband gets upset with me too, bjt I don't care! It's not like I'm buying stuff that we don't need. I have saved so much money buying necessities from Ebay as opposed to buying them at the store. Thanks for responding!

I have start selling on ebay since 2 days ago. It is something that I always want to do, but only get it started lately. For mine case, since i am new and only a number of products are on list, i only check when i am free, otherwise, i will wait for email notification if there is any close deal.

Thant's good that you don't let it consume your life! I really only get on the computer when my kids are busy with their schoolwork, or sleeping. Thanks for your comment!

I've also recently started buying and selling staff on eBay, and I LOVE IT. I'm addicted to eBay. Same like you, firts thing in the morning, and the last thing before I go to bed.I sell my old staff, not for the money, but for the trill, the excitement of the biding and the auction.

You sound a lot like me...I really enjoy the thrill of competing for the higher bid, and also people bidding on my stuff. Thanks for your comment!

I know what you're saying~ it can be addicting. I have found myself bidding more than I wanted to pay right when the auction is ready to end because I want to compete with others just so I win the auction! I have to set my maximum price that Im willing to pay before I even bid on the auction! As for selling, I have sold baby clothes on there and I get decent money. Evay is kind of nice because its garage sale prices without having to actually go digging through people's junk at a garage sale!

Yeah...I have also bid more then I really wanted to just for the sake of winning. I am trying to get better about that, but I am a really competetive person! Thank you for your response!

Yes, lol, that would be me too!! I started a mystery auction last night and am crushed that absolutely nobody has even looked at it! I recently won two mystery auctions (I don't bid on just any). One was a pleasant surprise....merchandise was worth way more than I paid...how often does THAT happen. Took the lot to a flea market, sold one, broke even and tons of people are interested. I won another one for primitive decorations and was like a kid opening everything. It was awesome. I thought my auction could provide that excitement for someone else, because I have a lot of cool stuff I could include, but I have to get people to go look first, yet I hate spending the 19.95 for featured, not knowing my return. Ugghh....here's the Ebay item # if anyone is interested in at least looking. 150112097937

I started buying a few years back & kind of went a little nuts :) Then about 2 years ago i opened an eBay store - it's nothing major, just has a few things in there & i just love having it there, watching to see if people bid on my auctions & i love it when out of nowhere someone picks a Buy It Now - sad huh? I had backed off a bit which i thought was a good thing but when my daughter was born last June, i got back on the buying thing again & i buy her all sorts of adorable clothese - ALL the time. More often than not i purchase baby clothes, just coz i cant resist some of them! I think it's a very addictive site - :)

I buy a lot of my kids clothes and sneakers there too. You can get such good deals there! I recently bought a $90 pair of brand new sneakers for one of my kids, and I only paid $16! Thanks for your response!
