Leaving your phone charging for too long?

I tend to leave my phone charging in a corner before going off doing something else for hours on end. Will leaving my phone charging for too long harm it in the long run? How so?

rapr40 it depends on your phone's battery type. for older generation type like NiCd and NiMh, if we charge the battery to long it could damage the battery. but nowaday there is a major improvement in battery technology. so you don't have to worry if you forget to...
