hi friends!!! i would like to know how you people cope with boredom.....i have recently dumped my job and am at home for most part of the day!!! so suddenly after a period of 7 years...i am feeling exceedingly bored....so much so...

saintdeb hi....thnx for your response.....even i read books and magazines sometimes...but i kindof get bored after a while!!!!....though i agree with you on the mylot part...it sure is a great place to hang out and have fun!!!!

saintdeb Actually i am through the GRE and Toefl.....but since i am planning for phd i guess i have a really hard time ahead of me....i got a 1410 in gre and am hoping for an admission in petroleum engineering.....................

saintdeb well i might consider volunteering for something.....to be honest i don't have many ideas myself....probably because i am facing this problem for the first time in my life....i hope to go for my graduate studies by july next year!! but have absolutely no idea...

saintdeb I agree completely, when XP was a new OS a few years back, it had similar problems of compatability! and to be honest i am using XP on my desktop and vista on my laptop and my laptop shows much better performance! desktop-512mb ram (XP SP2) laptop-1.5gb ram...

I have heard a lot of people say that windows vista is slower than xp in many ways, as in copying files, extracting files, etc. Do you experience anything like that?

saintdeb you are right! i had 512 mb ram initially and then had to upgrade to 1.5 gb as it was turning out to be too slow. Its smooth now. Also i guess the service pack 1 scheduled for first quarter next year should definately be helpful in fixing lots of potential...

saintdeb The truth is wndows Vista has many advantages and disadvantages at the same time! i have been using it for the past 5 months with my laptop. It definately is resource hungry!!! but that's because it has tons of added features which run in the background. Just...
