Why do some people "fart" more than others?

I'm just confused and wondering why others pass gas more than others. I was in a class today, and it was like the main talk of the speech class... opinions would be great! thanks!!!

I was at school today, praying before i ate, and a teacher had walked up to me, and said, "did you get permission to do that? I replied with a no, but then saying i dind't think that it was a big deal, i wasn't bothering anyone?...
