How would you take care of a virus on your computer?

Depending on the virus I would do one of two things: 1) Boot from a linux live cd and use antivirus software to clean my computer or 2) Save my personal data off the computer, wipe the hard drive, and reinstall the operating...

sleepincot Go linux! I myself prefer linux but hate the non-existent third party support, which is a bothersome with me as I do need access to certain programs that are Windows only.
