What book did you like in the Ender's Game Series? Did you prefer the original story of Ender, or of little Bean? Maybe Achilles? Or the grown-up Ender and the piggies? Which book did you like the best? Why?

I think that having a hobby that you're continuously interested in will give you more of a drive to life, a focal point, if you will. Agree or disagree? Maybe some hobbies you have/had that lets you take a break from the hard...

udayhase That's a really good hobby! A lot of hobbies you tend to need specialized equipment or a place to do it, so you can't always have it around, but crafty things like quilts, that sounds like a great hobby.

udayhase I do agree somewhat and am well aware that the relationship constitutes statutory rape, yet I feel that completely dismissing the relationship is a bit, well, harsh. Call me naive, but I would push him more to hold off the relationship instead of killing it....

udayhase Disturbing? What book was that? And yes, I do agree with you that Ender's game should be shared to kids. Although there is some nuances which they may not understand until they reread it later on, it's still a great story, and after all, it's about kids!

I did marching band for four years, and I liked it, but on the other hand, I know I had some friends who would've killed themselves rather than become a "bandie." What're your thoughts?

udayhase Marching band is really the best part of being in a band.... It sounds as if you never did high school band, unless you somehow marched in sixth grade. On the other hand, I'm sure everyone has their likes and dislikes. Lastly, parades are fun indeed.

udayhase Yeah, Band Geeks Unite! That's also the best part, that you don't have to be particularly amazing playing-wise or marching-wise, you can still say that you were part of the band, and you still get the full experience and come out with stories to tell and...

udayhase So true. Again, the band camp memories, and the lifelong friends! I also agree with the amount of respect the band gets compared to mainstream sports. I always like to think that band is a sport. After all, it's pretty strenuous physical activity.

udayhase Ah. "One time at band camp." Yet, I often find myself reciting that same exact line, for lack of a better opening to a story at band camp. I agree that the stories you can tell afterwards are one of the best things about having been part of a band.

udayhase I'll probably be a band geek for my life as well. I go to school in Dublin, Ohio, right near OSU, and our graduates make up a fair number of that band.

Facing another person with more talent than you is hard. But is that the end of the line? Isn't it possible that hard work can overcome talent or lack thereof?

udayhase Thank you for the great story! It seems that you know about this very well firsthand. Drawing/Painting does seem to be largely affected by talent...I never realized you could learn to draw.

udayhase I don't know how many times I've said that to friends and strangers alike, and I wish the whole world could just understand that help is always out there if you look for it, and that they will get you ahead much faster than you could alone.

udayhase Hobbies, I agree, are a great way to relieve stress. Much too often I hear of aging men and women succumb to monotony and start losing the sharpness of their mind, as well as growing weak in mind and body for a lack of focus in life.
