zhihao12 True, i have some friends who cant learn without someone to guide them. Yet they can achieve greatly when taught. Whereas for some people like me, i cant do well when taught but perform better when self learning. So in the end it really depends on oneself.

zhihao12 Of course, being receptive to others is necessary for good learning so i won't reject help from others. But unless i got stuck,, i will try to sort it out myself for long term benefits before i accept help.

zhihao12 Yes that is what i feel exactly. But when i bring this up with my parents, they actually kind of laugh at this thought and say that no one can really learn without someone to guide them. But i have always believe the opposite and will continue doing so.
