give money or go buy a gift to give? some children like to receive money so they can buy what they want than receiving gifts. so would you rather give money than give gifts?

squaretile personally i would rather give a gift to a child. And apart from newlyweds who always need money if they don't have a gift register, and new parents who need lots of liquid cash also since there are so many expenses for the new baby, I would not give money...

wiccania Well you can send all kinds of things for a new baby. When my mom and I know someone who's having a new baby, we tend to put together a basket of little things... nasal aspirater is the 1st thing we put in. One with a nice long tip, because the other ones...

Sissygrl You could always get something ingraved for the baby, like a spoon, I think when they are newborns and after the mom has had a babyshower and stuff they have a lot of what they need for the baby and its a good idea to buy something for MOM to make her feed...
