ClareDragonfly Interesting question! I think Voldemort relied on his protections for the other Horcruxes. He's clearly overconfident at times--remember, he doesn't think an underage wizard could possibly defeat him, so it's easy for Harry to get past some of the protections....

vijigopi Ya.. that's why I thought why JKR who was very careful with her writings didn't make it very difficult for Harry. In fact, one of the fan fintion stories of the 7th book made it very difficult with curses around all the other Horcruxes too.

ElicBxn Maybe because Dumbledore found the ones V had more time to work on, but the watch had been placed so that anyone removing it would be killed - unless he took someone along with him. So it wasn't just Dumbledore who found the ones cursed.

vijigopi Nobody tried to use the tiara... yes, but what about the Hufflepuff cup? There were a lot of spells just trying to hide the horcrux and most of them meant death. Funny.. only the ones Dumbledore found had to have terrible curses on them.

DrDotNet Probably not making the book even longer is the real reason, but as for a reason consistent with the logic of the book, I tend to agree with this one: the tiara was destroyed before anyone could even try to use it.

ElicBxn We don't know if the other Horcruxes had curses or not. Dumbledore tried to use the ring but nobody tried to use the tiara. We don't know if there was a curse on it because it wasn't used.
