purplerose I prefer small dog's, you can hold them in your lap and cuddle with them. I have a Shih Ztu who love's to cuddle with me all the time, if I had a big dog I wouldn't be able to cuddle them.

Karen Waterson I like smaller dogs myself, as I like to have them on my lap, and I can't with the big dogs. I have tow dogs that are lapdogs, and they are a pomeranian and a shishtuzu mix. They are both around 15 lbs or so. They are full grown small enough to carry around...

DW Davis I have had Labrador Retrievers, Brittanies, and now a miniature Schnauzer. At my age and place in life, I find having a smaller dog - my Schnauzer is about 20 pounds (9 kg) - is preferable.

Go Crossbones All depends on your mindset. I hate people who talk smack about society going soft with men and small breeds but you stick a manly breed in front of their face and all they do is smack the dog because it is to hyper. Being true to who you are is about as manly...
