wahptb I'm sorry to have to say this but don't listen to your mom on that one. Reading, especially at young age helps develop your brain. It's not only acquiring knowledge, it helps your brain form connections more easily. Reading is great for your mind! It doesn't...

Angelwriter Reading a lot makes you a reader. That's basically it. Although, I don't see the problem with being a geek or a nerd. I think it's a pretty safe bet that Einstein was a geek. Maybe even a nerd.

crazedmuch thanks patgalca :) im also a closet reader, and im 15 years old. another problem i have is my mom. she discourages me in reading books. according to her its nonsense. but reading is really my passion!

patgalca I think it depends on the generation and your age. My daughter is 14. Up until about a year ago she was a closet reader. That means she did not let her friends know that she loved to read. She only read at home and even then she didn't do it very often. Now...

tryxiness I don't think that reading makes you geek. I mean, with reading you tend to learn a lot which is the envy of most people. :)

royanne that is not true. actually, if you read a lot of books you can acquire more knowledge and that doesn't make you a nerd. it's just that your smarter. don't believe that stereotyped label. it's just a label and it's not true. people who doesn't have anything...

neenasatine nope because i have tried it many times and always end up some pain in my eyes after reading while traveling for just some few minutes...it makes my eyes easily hurt

santuccie I'd suggest you download Avast! from the vendor's site: http://www.avast.com/ You need a new registration key (don't worry, it's free) every year, which you can get there.

Poltergeist08 Well, it depends on how you look at the whole thing. There are dumb questions in general, but they are often asked by people who don't know anything about the subject in question. You shouldn't be afraid to ask if you don't understand something.
