louievill It's used here mainly to make rice smell good, placed on top while cooking and other rice dishes. It's also used for a dessert called buko pandan (young coconut and screw pine leaves) mixed with gelatin, you should taste it, it's very good.

Justusforus The Republicans, regardless of your political bent, must realize it looks like a 3 ring circus. As to the Democrats, I think it will be Hillary by a landslide. I checked the Vegas odds and they seem to pick her too...guess thats as good a predictor as any.
