ChubbySmurf most likely the motherboard has defective,otherwise,there might be BIOS alarms when other hardwares failed

ChubbySmurf yeah,I agree with you.firefox is a nice browser,more user-friendly and stable than ie,I think.expect that firefox is incompatible with my internet banking.so,on this occasion,i have to use ie,that's annoying.

ChubbySmurf Unfortunately,I think your notebook has got some hardware problems which might not be sloved by reinstalling OS. : (Anyway try it, and I do hope I'm wrong.
