cidtux Maybe you can try Lubuntu, or PCLinuxOS LXDE.. it's very light. Apple product's is very good. I like apple too, but still expensive for me for now. :D

cidtux hmmm... yes right, if newbie try a linux distribution like "slackware" or may be "linux from scrath (LFS)" you must build software with configure make and make install.... i'am newbie in linux too... ;-)
