Happy Homestead @Jackalyn Depends on where about you are in the UK, Up here in Orkney the ports are great... We are lucky that our local shop can't get rid of them fast enough - they have to pay to get rid, so we are helping the shop out! Piers and ports are another good...

Happy Homestead @jvincent_129 First camera was - 12 years ago so can't recall what it was! I would say to get the best camera you can, and also the best lenses. The lenses make all the difference and you can vary your filters on them.
